does anyone have suggestions or news of cheap hand wash - i have carers that come in 3 times a day and they are always washing their hands so needs to be medicated and good value so i could put some away in my store??
just been and brushed part of my garage and made some spiders homeless:o I need to make room for a plastic storage bunker that i want to use for my extras - it will be dry and well protected from the frost.

Confuzzled wrote: »i saw a post on the grabbit board about chemist direct and had a look myself. i found a few things good for winter prep so i thought i'd share them here. be sure to go via topcashback and get some cashback (not sure if they're on quidco or not)
Fleece covered hot water bottle with moggy 99p!
Night Nurse Cough Medicine 99P
Duracell Plus D Batteries 2 pk 99p
WD40 99P
the reason i added the wd40 is that last year my front door lock became increasingly difficult to open in the cold weather. a few sprays with wd40 and it's been fine since so as part of my winter prep i will be spraying it again before the real cold sets in, just to be safe!
postage is £3.49 if you spend less than £40 and there are tons of light bulbs of all sorts including a 15 watt energy saver, light fixtures and even some small appliances in the sale. hope this helps some of you
Great minds think alike I just popped into advise the same thing.. bought 3 x hot water bottles !!
Now crossed off all my medicine stuff too.
I also bought Xmas bag of bows, wrapping paper and tags all really low prices :TGoal - We want to be mortgages free :j

Quick tidy in the garage (it had it's big clean out two weeks ago)
Get up fallen leaves with the leaf blower/sucker
Clean windows again!!
Re-check everwhere around the house and deal with there and then if needs attention (we have done this already but just in case we have missed something from our original list we have added that into our remainder list).
Left To Purchase
2 x 15kg sacks of Pedigree dried dog food
1 x bag of compost
2 x sacks of red and white potatoes (one of each keeping eye on local farmer)
One more set of flannelette sheets - will look at Trago Mills when in Cornwall (so I have two complete sets in total, one set on the bed, one in the washing/drying)
Unbelievably, this list has radically reduced for us compared to what it was in May!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Our town has 2 Poundlands one large(ex Woolies) and one small (original) and neither has ever had the foil blankets
Have you got a 99p store? Mine has the twin packs of foil blankets, expect they will disappear soon as the season changes. HTH.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I noticed that too the other day when I was in - I love those ones and they were such great value. However, I got 10 packs from Home B*argains instead (59p).toottifrootti wrote: »does anyone have suggestions or news of cheap hand wash - i have carers that come in 3 times a day and they are always washing their hands so needs to be medicated and good value so i could put some away in my store??
Chemist Direct also had some "decent" stuff on offer: http://www.chemistdirect.co.uk/radox-clean-and-refresh-natural-antibacterial-handwash-with-lime-and-corriander_1_159732.html (300ml) or http://www.chemistdirect.co.uk/certex-antibacterial-handwash-blue_1_154981.html (500ml) or Tes*co have Carex (250ml) 3 for £3 just now (they also do their own range which are less than 60p for 500ml - antibacterial - but I've not tried it as I get eczema so tend to stick to what I know but it may be OK for you/your carers).
I was tempted but when I checked the cupboard I've got loads (think there was an offer of 3 for £4 a while ago and I got a bit carried away!).Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000

I really need to get a move on though with the curtains as speaking to neighbour and the people that lived here before us were complaing (understandably) about a £1000 gas bill for winter  i didnt even spend that much on gas and electric a year in my old house.
do you live close to an Argos? Have a peep in the clearence section, i bought a pair of 90x90 curtains for £8.99 yesterday - my local had quite a few variations going. i will be using one on the front door and the second on the lounge/hallway. i am hoping the gathering effect will also keep a bit more heat in as they are not lined.0
