I am treating myself to Sky TV in the bedroom :D I managed to get a really really good deal with Sky so its well worth it as I won't need the heating on downstairs but can stay in my snuggly bed instead and the kids can come and snuggle in with me at weekends when we don't have to get up for school :)

In case anyone needs a new duvet... Slumberland winter duvets are half price in Mr T at the moment - got myself one yesterday and it is so snuggly and warm that I stayed in bed til nearly lunchtime today :D:D:D

Got lovely new duvet cover and pillowcase set for just £15 :j

In fact, my new bedstuff is so lovely and snug that I think I am going to go to bed now with a good book :)

    Nite all :)
  • I've decided OH really could do with a wellington boots for walking to work this winter in the snow.

Does anyone know if I can get them any cheaper than £12.50 (from @sd@)?

  • ha ha ha sure! I'm making a very budget-style emergency bag - kind that you just want to grab in an emergency, whatever the emergency is! I've managed to gather most things without spending any money so far, but I haven't found free sorces for these yet.

The mugs/plates/cutleries are obviously for eating, I was thinking those would be handy!

Matches - to light candles with

lighters - I'm on my last lighter in the house, so I need to stock some more

ball of string - always useful

water purification tablets - this is the paranoid me wanting to be on the safe side.

3 decks of card - We wanted a deck of cards to play with in the evenings... and one in the emergency bag, and another in the car emergency bag (it was either that or argue in the car when we have to wait for hours for help!!)

If you have sky in the lounge you dont need to be paying a 2nd subscription for the bedroom.

You can get a magic eye which connects via the same cable that an aerial would connect, this plugs into the back of the sky box and sends the picture to the bedroom tv. You can buy one on ebay with a new remote for about £5.

You can then change channel using the magic eye... this will save you whatever it costs to have a 2nd box each month.

Although new to this thread, I already love it.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I live in a 1930"s end semi, council house and have been here 10 months. This is the coldest house i have ever lived in since my childhood home, where we didnt have central heating or double glazing. Here we have double glazing and central heating but this is very inadequate for some reason and i can feel draughts.I need to find as cheaply and quickly as possible, ways to stop it being so cold .I have asked on freecycle for any door length curtains.I will aslo look in the charity shops this week. I do fancy using the bubble wrap method to insulate some of my wondows but wondered what the best way is to stick this down?? I am also going to stock up on bare essentilas, as many of you have already done. There is something rather exciting about all this or is that just me being sad???
