do you know if they offer them online as well? i was planning to do an online shop with them this weekend if they do i'll put a few in my order, my bedroom window is awful for condensation in the winter but it's really the only one that's a problem so it's not worth getting a big expensive one, we will be moving in may next year anyway0 -

I plan to go to Wilkingsons after the kids have gone back to school & get some fleece wellie liners. I tried them a few months ago & they were sooooo warm!!!
Do they do them for kids? My DS loves his wellies but would really like some for him...and the girls!0 -

The liners can be trimmed to fit any size and the guide cut out is printed on the back so you won't go wrong!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

The chimney sweep will be able to have all the doors and windows open while they are sorting out the area and the fireplace will be cold for them to do it which is really important. When your parents come to light it at least they know it is safe and will work well with a good draw! The same goes for getting in the wood now, stacking it up while the weather is decent makes good sense. Our neighbours have had their second delivery of wood done on Monday just gone so they are well stacked out. We have completed ours already but we are still on the lookout for the odd branch that has fell down over the field (the farmer does not mind us doing that
). We have a wooden bird table that needs to be sanded down and restained as well as the roof of the seated arbour. That is the next two jobs on our list to get done. Just keep on looking in the charity shops August, September and October time. They move their stock around from shop to shop as well - not sure if you know that! Sometimes you can pick up clothing at car boots as well
Hope you are now feeling better after your dizzy spell and doing your bit!
Candie-gill - yes you can batch cook and freeze no problem, just make sure you label on the outside what it is otherwise it might become a guessing game. Our freezer is out in the garage and when it turns cold those notes on the bags are a pleasure for having to spend minimal time with the door open in the freezing cold
Thank you Rainy-Days, I felt better yesterday though not up to running aobut with DS2's kite..., Back to normal today. Absolutely, now is the time for mum and dad to start getting ready, I'm proud of them.
I didn't realise the charity shops moved stock around, so will watch out for that. The problem for me is that as I work Monday to Friday in term time and have so charity shops near work, home or DS2's school, school holidays are the best time for me to browse. We also do karate saturday mornings in term time and have church sunday mornings, so I have to juggle to see what we can fit in ;-) ! HAve shifted karate to tuesday evenings over the hols, so that helps as I got to the market this morning for fruit & veg before going to the supermarket...
Picked up a door curtain yesterday to go over the door from the hallway into the lounge - cat will not hear of it being closed so that's the first one to cover! Also curtains for DS1's room, they'll need lining but are the right colour for his newly painted room, and a huge crochet throw for the sofa. I can see it needs mending in a few places so will have to sweet-talk my sister into doing that for me.0 -
for anyone looking to buy leggings/thermal longjohns, Asda do great thick thermal tights for £3. They come in black and dark grey, and are so much warmer than leggings. I always find that leggings just take the chill off, whereas these actually keep you warm! I work outside a lot and they are great under trousers.0

It's quite warm here today so I thought I would get into town earlyish which was nearer to 10am in the end! I did get three packs of the dehumidifiers from Poundland. The young girl on the checkout said to me why don't you leave your windows open. So I said these are for winter and last year there was no way I was leaving a window open when it was minus 12 and 14. So she said oh I see why don't you buy them nearer the time! You know what I couldn't be bothered to explain. I would rather think she thought of me being some 40 plus crank :rotfl:
I got the wardrobes cleaned out last night and all tidied up. I also laid down some lavender in there to keep the moths at bay as well. I have washed three pairs of slippers and had those out on the line drying today. I also got in Home Bargains another bottle of Stardrops but this one had 33% extra free in it for 89p - ten pence cheaper than Wilko's so I was pleased with that. I have put that to one side in the garage as that will do for using to clean the guttering and facias. I also bought some sandpaper from Poundland for sanding down the shed, bird table and arbour as that is next on the list.
Got home and Lakeland's Autumn Winter catalogue was there to greet me also one of my other magazines which is the September edition and there was much discussion in it about preparing food for the Autumn and winter months that lay ahead - we have noted it here on this thread :T
Got some more suede protector and a suede brush form Wilkinsons and that will now finish off the last couple of jobs to do. Wilko's were getting their Autumn new stock put out. Primark are having a sale on to make way for their Autumn Winter stock. Monsoon are having their Autumn stock delivered sometime in the next two weeks apparently and have further reductions.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

We live in an old house with thick solid walls,so prone to condensation and I keep these little dehumidifyers out all year round.
I actually have 27 of them around the house,Some in the bay windows behind the curtains, some in cupboards and wardrobes and others tucked away hidden from sight.
They actually collect about three times as much water over the summer than in the winter and I just buy the bags of refill crystals from Lakeland to fill them up again.
Mind you I dread the summer when I have to go round cleaning them out :rotfl:.
We never have any problems with damp or mould anywhere in the house, anytime of year with these about, they're marvelous.0
