Dad visited yesterday and when looking around in the garden he was absolutely gobsmacked by the amount of berries on my holly bush, there must be a couple of thousand at least and its not a huge bush!

He tells me that as they`re meant to feed the birds we should be in for a bad winter :D:D:rotfl:

Think i`d best start getting me bits and bobs together early this year

well at least the birds will be alright! lol!

I wear Celts from Celtic Sheepskin or Emus. Both are better in my opinion than uggs but the Celts are the best. They cost but I have had mine for years. I too, would be wary of uggs on ebay.

i haven't a boyes near me. boohoo :( I think I shall have to crochet mine, use up all the old dregs of wool or get some cheepy chunky wool again.

Do those brush strips you attach to the bottom of the door work at all? or is a draught excluder a better idea

Yea they do work, i'm having a new one put on my front door end of June :) Poundshop sell them actually so not pricey.

Went to boyes today and picked up a couple of the 50p draft excluders, they are stored away ready for the colder months, booked in for the council to reseal the padding round my front door and add a draft excluder as the last one broke off oops!

I have a ton of scarves (pashmina style) so was just wondering if anyone had an idea of how best to store them?

I've kept them in a suitcase since last winter (along with hats, gloves, kaftans and other seasonal bits) but their a little musty smelling now so I've been trying to think of a better way to keep them?
Going to wash them all (will have to check the labels and check that that's ok actually first) and then pop them away ready for the change in season (which can not come quickly enough for me!)

Have you considered getting some vac pack basically a clear bag you roll or suck the air out of i use them for the winter bedding and also spare pillows and i put a tumble dryer sheet in( i've got loads left from when i had a dryer ) they are so useful and because all the air is sucked out they don't take up loads of space they are also waterproof and the moths won't be able to get at winter woolies hth

The weather up here is awful again and the heating's been on today. I think it's really sad, although quite sensible, that we have to think in JUNE of ways to beat winter misery. We should all be frollicking about in the evening sunshine with not a care in the world!
