Cat appeared yesterday morning at the back door ! Got a scab and baldy bit next to his ear, and I rubbed honey on it. Ate FOUR sachets of food then got into his bed and slept all day !

It's pretty balmy here too, 5C and Accuweather predicts a high of 10C today!!! Nearly all the snow is gone and there just patches of slush and ice left on the footpaths and roads. I absolutely love snow but I admit I am glad to see the back of it cos once it stopped snowing and we just had frozen compacted snow and ice it was so dangeroius.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Question... We do have some condensation in the house but the house always feels cold. I have updated the insulation of the house where I can but the cavity walls have some sort of insulation in them from when the houuse was built but it's obviously not effective now but new insulation can't be mixxed with it.
Will a dehumidifier make the house feel warmer if it takes some moisture out of the air?
Thank you.0 -

What a relief for you!
I found some secondhand thick cotton curtains for the kitchen. They're slightly too short, but I'll put them up anyway for the time being.0 -

I don't know if a dehumidifier would make a house feel warmer as such, but having too much moisture in the air is not healthy and can cause all kinds of problems in a house.I think that the potential to heat a house is improved if the air is not too moist,if that makes sense. Then, like you say, there are other factors to consider,ie whether the house is well insulated.
Certainly having a dehumidifier in place can't do any harm IMHO.

We had a dehumidifier in the last house we were in as it had a mould problem, not ony did it deal pretty effectively with the mould problem it did at least give the illusion of being slightly warmer although whether it actually raised the temperature I was never quite sure. Was a funny house to heat as it got toasty quite quick but gosh did it cool down quick (thick stone walls) and no amount of insulating seemed to make any difference and think it may have been the most inefficient boiler in the world judging by the bills! Thankfully we've now got a lovely toasty house and our neighbours seem to be heating junkies - even better!0
