Just received an email from Delta trying to direct me to their (legitimate but unnecessary) partner CIBT. Not impressed.

It would be valid from today for 2 years or until your passport expires.

I wouldn't leave it until the last minute just in case there is a problem with your application.

thanks for that, thats what i needed to know, will leave it till what 1 week before i travel or 2 would you say?
    Cheers

I would have a look at the site and make sure you can answer all the questions without any problems such as having to declare an arrest for a CiMT.

Are you intending going back just before the 2 years is up? If not there is no reason to leave it till the last minute. You have to apply at least 72 hours before travelling.

Also make sure you go to the official site which charges $14 and not one of the scam sites which charge a lot more.
  • Sorry if this has already been answered but just wanted some clarity. if i land in Calgary July 10th and get a bus into the USA via Washington. Then leave towards nassau around september 1st, come back to USA then leave via california to Hawaii leave hawaii after the 10th November for Greenland...does this mean:

    A) i don't need an Esta until i fly back from Nassau and an I-94W form when going from Canada to USA (I.e best just to ge tthe ESTA?
    b) I must leave Hawaii before the 10th (3 month holiday visa etc)
    Thanks

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this question

    A) yes
    b) admittance under the VWP will allow you 90 days from the date of entry ie the day you cross into the USA from Canada. The 'clock' does not stop and start. AIUI you will need to leave Hawaii within 90 days of entering the USA from Canada.
Is there a direct flight from Hawaii to Greenland? You may need to allow an extra day if you need transit via a USA airport.
NB 10 th July - 10th Nov is 4 months, not 3, and 3 months exceeds 90 days

I was just trying to apply for my visa and under country of citizenship and passport issuing country I've put UK - British National and it says "passport ineligible for visa waiver program travel."

Am I being stupid and choosing the wrong option?

What does it say in your passport?

I don't have it with me at the moment because I'm at work but I was born and lived here (the UK) all my life and just renewed my passport in Feb

I will check later but I'm guessing it says citizen so I should be picking that option?

    UP TO 90 days.
