We are looking to book a cruise for 10 of us in septemeber. NCL epic Mediterranean, either 1st or 8th Sept. Can anyone recommend a good site to buy from? trying to get the best deal. we can fly with easyjet out and back so we really only need a deal for the cruise part altough we would be open to a package if it worked out cheaper over all. Any info appreciated!

If I were you I would book via an American Travel Agent, it will definately be cheaper than any UK website. That cruise is currently £120 pp cheaper (Inside cabin) with www.vacationstogo.com than the best UK price - www.vivavoyage.co.uk
Most importantly, not only will it be cheaper but you will get much better Terms and Conditions with the US Agent.

Your deposit will be totally refundable up to 80 days before departure unlike the UK where you will lose the lot. Also another important advantage is that if NCL drop their prices before you pay the final balance (as they often do), YOU get the new lower price. Therefore booking early as you are planning you are not disadvantaged if / or when the price drops.

You are also more likely to get increased benefits like free gratuities and better on-board credits per cabin than those offered by UK agents. You may also get additional benefits for a large group booking.

    Ncl again.

looking for a bit of winter sun then the Spirit 9n Canaries runs ex BCN are on offer with cruise nation from £299 inc flights(but not bags), no transfers.

    http://www.cruisenation.com/offers/spirit-canaries.phtml

As ever shop around NCL UK cruise only fares are from £269
Also check US prices for the cruise especialy suites.

This is a really good deal but unfortunately I can't book straight away. It's only got an hour to go so no chance of sorting holidays at work by then.

My question is, how did you find this offer?

I've been onto the Cruisenation site but can't find a link anywhere that gets me to this, or similar, offers. The only way I can see it is via your link.

    Many thanks.

you need to sign up for the emails.

Another NCL deal, Jade 12th Dec 10 night from £199 direct with NCL UK.

    not checked flights.

Balconies around £260 suites might be still cheaper through the US. the courtyard villa is gret value and if you can find 2 more couples the 3 bedroom garden villa is a bargain(US).

I agree with this advice. Unfortunately due to family illness we have just had to cancel a cruise, as we booked via a US TA we got all our deposit back. We will never book any other way now.

You have to be carefull not all US TA are fully refundable.

Also not all cruise are cheaper through the US

The above NCL JAde 12 Dec inside cabin is £70 cheaper in the UK.

I have seen RCI trips cheaper booked UK.

It may be that certain cruises are cheaper, but in general our experience has been that US TA's work out cheaper and most do refund in full before final payment. Obviously, it is up to the buyer to check the specifics. We always ask that question and ask about price drops being applied before we book.
  • I have seen some decent caribbean cruises from San Juan. Anyone know the usual flight routes from London to San Juan?

There are no direct scheduled flight from the UK to San Juan, you normally connect via the airlines hub airport on the east coast. Most US airlines offer this service.

It can be a long horrible flight but has the advantage that it eliminates at least 3 seadays from your holiday and you start the Caribbean cruise immediately and avoid the Atlantic section which can be rougher.
Most of the American cruise ships do 7 day cruise departing either Sat or Sunday, you can easily do a back-to-back cruise extending to 14days. or even change ships for the second or even third week. Too far to travel for just a week holiday.

also look at the airlines that don't show on the regular searches.

We used jetblue in Nov tampa-boston and they were good also prices were resonable

they fly to SanJ from few east coast airports.
