we are still waiting NCL responce to the Egypt situation which could impact Jade bookings with cancellations.

I'm booked on the Jade cruise on the 22nd. Will be interesting if the Egypt ports are cut. Would we get the offer of cancellation ?

If so I'd probably see if I could cancel and rebook at a cheaper price

depends on the changes, look at T&C for major change 2 ports is usualy enough. I think they will try to get around this.

always look for an upgrade if prices drop, NCL US are usualy OK with this, UK might need a fight.

watch the cabin prices and availability daily.

I have booked through the US VTG so that's good news. I am also using cruisefish to monitor changes but unusually today all the prices have disappeared

With the Jade it is often cheaper through the UK except for suites.

They just check the price of cruises every day so you can track prices and look for deals on all grades not just the healine price for each type which most TA give..

problem is you still need to check the actual cruise line for live prices availability.

You also need to shop around and check prices US,UK,EU.

the more flrxable you are on choice of date ship the better the prices you can get.

Hi all,

I am really interested in this cruise and would like a bit more advice on it. Ideally I would love to go on 22nd but I can see the prices are nearly double than similar itinerary on 12th (tempting, could get a balcony cheaper than an inside stateroom!). Is it wise to wait and see if they drop any further? Surely the longer I leave it the more expensive the flights will get or perhaps sort out flights now and wait on the cruise booking?! Where is the best place to look for suitable flights (sorry, not even sure which airport is closest) and how much is it like to cost to get from the airport to the cruise port?

We went on the Jade in January 2012 around the Canary islands (thanks to a tip on this board) and had fab time. If anything I would have liked to try a different ship but can't find anything else I like that I can afford. Wouldn't mind the Jade again, hopefully there will be different acts on though. Last time we booked directly on the NCL site, does anyone know if these two cruises in December can be found cheaper anywhere else?

One trick with flights is to just accept you use BA and Avios points.

last xas we paid £110 for our BCN flights from LHR not looked at options this year.

skyscanner.net is the place to look for flights

As for the cruise prices keep an eye on availability(use ncl.uk and check cabins)

I get a print from cruisefish and then table the cabin counts.
the max you can see are 15 but when all the grades start to fill and get under 15 its getting close to full.

I think this 22nd will price drop but the ones either side are so much cheaper( do both and average). around 6 weeks might be the time to bottle out and book so mid Nov.

We are looking at this but are away for most of Nov so may miss the boat(pun intended).

oh nearly forgot, Rome port it Civitavecchla , train via central rome is probably easiest,, last time we had transfers included about 40 mins by coach NCL probably offer them even if on own flights.

We have flights booked for the 21st and are staying overnight at a B&B in Civitavechia. If you have Avios with BA Exec club you may be able to get the £29 reward flights. I don't know if they offer them so close to Xmas

We wanted to be away at Xmas and New Year so swallowed hard and have paid up. If the prices do come down I will try for an upgrade. We were also on the Jade this year and really enjoyed it.

I thought I would check the flights for BA LHR looks like this is a book the flight and hope for the cruise to get cheaper, allready needs a few nights hotels see below.

Other airlines still have better flight prices £150-£200 but not all direct some need bag charges.
