I find it interesting that the company review for 1524948 Alberta Ltd, the parent company of SwipeAuctions that Jesse Willms owns has the scam flog news reporting rag, channel9newstoday, listed as one his own:

    Thanks for the warning!
Any "auction" where you have to pay to make bids is a con.
It's called scandinavian auction, as a matter of fact there's nothing illegal about it.
  • Well I see that 'Jennifer' and 'Hernan' have failed to return although Jennifer' is still busy posting away on complaints board (most recent comment made today, 20/12/10):
    http://www.complaintsboard.com/panel.php?action=profile&id=531732

But then I guess it is kind of hard to defend the indefensible!

Odd that Jennifers profile gives her location as Sandy, Utah USA when SwipeAuctions are in Alberta, Canada (despite using a UK Ltd company address).

Here is another good post on the dishonesty and deception of swipeauctions:

are people really stupid enough to fall for this??....
  • A possible reason that we now find out so much about Jesse Willms' businesses, is the court order served on him as part of an agreement that wouldn't close him down and make him bankrupt.

This follows on from Jesse's earlier scams when he used Oprah Winfrey (recently deemed the most powerful woman in the world who can make or break anyone's career) without her permission in his scam adverts.

Since the "agreement with prejudice", Jesse Willms must inform the court of all his websites and domains that he runs or owns for several years.
He must also employ someone to trawl the net to ensure that none of his advertisers use the Oprah image or endorsement for several years as well.

If any are found he has 10 days to clear the web and get back any monies derived from the adverts.

If anything fails, it's contempt of court, and a huge swathe of nasties come his way, courtesy of Oprah's suits.

Of course, this ONLY applies to Oprah-type advertising, and we see that he's continuing in his scammy ways in other directions, always careful to keep Oprah happy!

But it's a start, and we need others to clamp down further. It does show that if enough people complain and report, things can happen. (An example of this is the scam about Google Treasure Chest or Money Tree from last year. Thousands were scammed, or more accurately robbed and it looked like nothing could be done. But this week, the Feds collared the crooks for nigh on $30 million and have effectively bankrupted them as they can't pay. Various types of property have been confiscated in lieu of the full amount. For an American, this is the pits!) - see

A bit of information and a link to the actual court document are here:

Indeed they did and the crooks were probably lucky to escape jail time.

"Not even a disclaimer in small type by some of the defendants that there was no actual affiliation with Google spared them from the astronomical judgment, according to court filings. "

A lesson there for all those fake news sites who seem to think that using tiny grey font at the very bottom of the page declaring that We are not affiliated in any way with ABC, FOX, CBS, CNN, USA TODAY, BBC, SKY and MSNBC (or whatever other company, celebrity or charity logo we took and used without permission) somehow gets them off the hook.

  • Hi,

I work at flutteroo.co.uk and would like to explain why our name appeared on one of those fake news sites.

Essentially, it was the work of an affiliate, who failed to ask us for the go ahead before publishing this page. We quickly saw to it that it was discontinued and our name removed.

Affiliate marketing can be a minefield, with third parties free to create any sort of content they like without sign off from the vendor. We have no links with any of the companies mentioned in this thread and oppose attempts to mislead consumers.

    Thanks,
    Flutteroo
