This website was previously called Swipebids and has hundreds of complaints online:

etc (there are many many more)
It has now been renamed SwipeAuctions (swipeauctions.com) and is targetting the UK with ads on Google Adwords and Facebook:
eg: this swipeauctions ad on Facebook

The ad reads: "Today: iPad for £26.75?"
"Save up to 90% off on products such as iPad, iPhone, and more. Great new deals available each day. Sign up to receive these deals now!"
The owner of the website was previously behind various teeth whitening, acai pills and work from home scams:
http://www.webcops.net/just_think_media_spam_scams_8001.html
Avoid Swipebids / Swipe Auctions et al. They are using a UK address LTD company name and address (CIRCLE MEDIA BIDS LIMITED, 72 HIGH STREET, HASLEMERE, SURREY, GU27 2LA), but the company HQ is actually in Alberta, Canada.

Any "auction" where you have to pay to make bids is a con.0

True - it's effectively gambling, so not really an auction at all despite their desperation to compare themselves to ebay:

http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/2009/05/penny-auctions-theyre-gambling.html
Swipe Auctions / Swipebids is a particularly nasty outfit though as they also charge a non-refundable "membership fee" to join, not to mention the previous scams run by the site owners (weight loss chinese tea, acai pills, teeth whiteners, google work at home 'kits' etc) which suggest their main aim is to swipe your money and disappear. Their previous site Swipebids was only registered for 1 year from December last year (and has now been replaced by swipeauctions.com) while all their previous fly by night websites have long since disappeared. Search this forum for info on their work from home scams; acai scams (acai burn) and teeth whitening scams (dazzlewhite / dazzlesmile) or see:
http://www.webcops.net/just_think_media_spam_scams_8001.html
"Hernan" and "Jennifer" have cut and pasted the same nonsense all over the web in response to the thousands of complaints about their employer."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

At the risk of being banned on here what the fu ck are the site owners on about. "exclusive members" and "pre-paid bids"
Its sites/companies like this who prey on the vulnerable, gullible, addictive, stupid and innocent members of society, that have zero morals and that makes me sick.
I would put these companies almost as low as lottery scammers and burglars I really would.
And to come on here posting to try and defend your rip off is laughable it really is. I would like to see how you would feel if your mum got ripped off by this BS.0 -
Hi
I am the Head of Public Relations here at SwipeAuctions.com, I had a chance to read your inquiry and I wanted to offer some feedback.
Well First here is an interesting clip.......

And shall we sniff just a few reviews out....

Just a few interesting pointers,.....
1. There are interesting arguments that Swipebids/Swipeauctions wants to follow the laws of Alberta, Canada. Upon reading the "Fair Trading Act" (Internet Sales), I see that any business agreement is void if the business does not supply an address. The reports I read claim Swipebids/Swipeauctions will not disclose their exact address. They use addresses in CO., Surrey, and cannot confirm or deny their address when asked on their live chat option. This sends Red Flags for me.
2. No matter the reason why swipeauctions do not want to disclose their address, they claim Alberta as their legal base through their terms of service. Since this is the case, contact Service Alberta with your swipeauctions complaints and enquiries at service.alberta@gov.ab.ca They will be happy to give you advice on your concern(s). They will even investigate swipebids/swipeauctions in Alberta and prosecute if they have enough evidence to do so.
To get better details on how to deal with your swipeauctions/swipebids concerns, check these two out:
http://www.ripoffreport.com/internet-fraud/swipebids/swipebids-stole-150-from-my-577dc.htm
http://www.ripoffreport.com/computer-fraud/www-swipebids-com/www-swipebids-com-www-swipeauc-baa79.htm
Do a google search on swipebids/swipeauctions and Alberta to receive other information.
2. Alberta has strict lottery laws from what I have read on the alberta.ca site. To me, if one pays .50 or so a bid and needs to keep bidding, aren't they doing the same thing as buying lottery or raffle tickets? The more bids bought, the better the chance to win? So, I researched to see if swipeauctions has a lottery license. Apparently, to date, they do not. This leads to question its legality. Again, you can share this concern with Service Alberta at service.alberta@gov.ab.ca and get their advice.
3. In my opinion, the price paid is somewhat deceptive. Why? Well, if you take the price paid and add up all the bids it took to get the price up, it could add up to thousands of dollars for an item that costs a fraction of this price. Price deception is also a violation of the "Fair Trading" Act in Alberta. Go to: http://www.servicealberta.gov.ab.ca/1049.cfm and click internet sales contract link.
4. I have read many complaints that the VISA charges are from Belize City. Well folks, offshore accounts are not disallowed in Canada, but are investigated by the Canada Revenue Agency.
If your Credit Card bill claims money went offshore by swipebids/swipeauctions, do the right thing and contact Canada Revenue Agency to ensure everyone pays their fair share. The information on reporting is: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/gncy/nvstgtns/lds-eng.html. You can remain anonymous. CRA investigates all companies who trade in Canada who use offshore systems. Use the Prairie region number.
They will need to know the company and owners. That info is located here: http://www.bbb.org/edmonton/business-reviews/internet-auction-service/1524948-alberta-ltd-in-sherwood-park-ab-156691
5. There are concernes about Penny Auctions too. Read this report from Sherwood Park.

In this article, you will get the name of the owner. Google him and see what you find out.
My advice - STAY WELL AWAY!!!!!!!!:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

The trouble with scammers like you, is you expect us all to be as daft as you, your fooling nobody on here, I would suggest you crawl back under your stone from whence you came, and pray that some gullible schmucks dont have an internet connection, as its the only realistic way your going to get people to fall for you hook, line and sinker.
But fear not, we shall be sure expose you everywhere you crawl, no matter what business names you can come up with, daring to tread yourself in MSE is your BIGGEST mistake!!!
Well said. :T"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the

We pride ourselves in being the beacon of moral and ethical business practices in our industry.
Oh please. Pull the other one.
It seems your moral and ethical practices include using fake news websites to advertise your business - funny how this one says the guy won a car on Jumbobids while this one says the same guy won the same car on Swipebids."The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."
