My dd was born 11 months after I met her dad:eek: she is now 5 & we have been married a year:o.

DS1 (soon to be 16) was born 44 weeks after I met his Dad and I was pregnant for 42 weeks of that :o:o:o.

I went into deep, deep shock and denial at first - couldn't possibly be pregnant - on the pill and condoms too. I was convinced that I would be bringing up the baby alone.

His Dad was lovely when I told him. Shocked obviously, but really lovely. It was me that was a total mess.

Anyway - fast forward 16 years. We've been married for 15 years and have another daughter together.

Stem crystallized ginger I found to be useful for quelling morning sickness.

By the way, congratulations :D. Best of luck with telling your partner. Hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. He needs telling so the sooner the better. Then you can start to make plans. X

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

hehe with this one I chickened out and sent my husband a text. I was on Depo injection and routine consultant appointment to play with my medication because i was feeling more and more tired that we thought i needed a change of meds. Pregnancy was not a reason that crossed my mind until i went to consultant to 'discuss' blood results and OH couldn't get the time off. I think he thought my 'i'm out, i'm ok, small problem, i'm pregnant' was a bit of a joke.

For some bizzare reason I got it into my head he would up and leave. TBH I think it was my own personally feelings of wanting to up and leave the situation that made me feel that way.

I wouldn't involve alcohol in it at all, i'd just be straight about it, how was your holiday good great etc etc I wasn't too well while you were away, yeah i'll be ok but my GP says i'm pregnant.

evening everyone, well we had the conversation and it was better than expected.

I planned a big speech in my head as I drove over there that seemed perfect, but that all went to pot! I asked about his holiday, how he was etc, he did the niceties and asked how I was - I muttered I'm pregnant and then started crying:eek:

we spoke for a good two hours and he was shocked, a bit scared and excited by the time I left. He is gonig to come to my scan on the 30th September and wants to move in together:eek: me, live with a boy!!

so I feel like a weight has been lifted from shoulders. I just wish this blimmin sickness would stop! xx

  • Big congrats VB :j You've not only got yourself a wonderful baby, but a wonderful man too.

As for MS, take every day as it comes, and make the most of the good days. Listen to your body. Mine tells me what I fancy eating and what I really can't stomach. DH doesn't quite understand it when I look at something and say "No, can't eat it" before I've even tried it. For a few weeks, all I could drink was apple juice, not even water would stay down. If it gets too bad, go and see your Dr or MW, and get it sorted before you end up on a drip. I was 7 weeks pregnant, and on a drip on the maternity ward for 24 hours, surrounded by women who were 9 months pregnant (one of whom gave birth at about 4am). I still hadn't got over the shock of being pregnant by this stage!
Don't forget to ask your MW about what suppliments you may need to take if you're not eating properly. Folic acid is a must anyway.

Pop over the the pregnancy threads, there's plenty of lovely people on them ready to give help and advice, and to share the good days and bad days.
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:
