My latest statement is dated 18th September and payment has to reach my account no later than the 9th October.

I'm going to call Natwest about that, especially after the cheque incident, I don't like having to try and get a chance to get to natwest, when there's none near me, because I can't risk them screwing up a cheque for me. A few days extra would help so much.

  • Personally, I don't have a problem with the late fee. The original poster was late, and I have no objection to any company making a bit of cash - just so long as it's not too much.

However, to then add an over-limit fee on is a tad harsh. Had the poster got the late fee and then spent some money, taking him slightly over, then that's fair and reasonable, but to be fined for having a bank imposed fine is, to me at least, morally wrong.

To be safe you should set up a direct debit for the minimum amount. That way you should never miss a payment as it is up to the bank to request the payment. If you want to pay extra you can at any time.
