Well I still cant quite believe this 1p deal I got this evening. In my local tesco I noticed Denby 12 piece Blueberry everyday dinner service for £8.00 each, I popped 2 in my trolley, got to the check out and they scanned at 1p each. I think they had been hiding out back somewhere as they were very dusty but I still cant believe my luck now! The lady behind me at the checkout ran back and grabbed the last one. Fingers crossed there are a few more of these lurking about at various stores for others to grab.
You mean the sets that are usually £85.00?
I have never seen them in Blueberry so I think you must have been very lucky - well done! :TIf you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -

Re. the misleading prices there was a Panorama or was it Tonight programme on this a couple of months ago, where they say bigger pack better value and all the main 4 supermarkets were guilty of actually charging more for some bigger packs.
Classic example is the OB Tesco Weetabix. Although to be fair they don't actually market it as bigger pack better value, I think we're guilty of assuming bigger packs will be better value sometimes.
I pretty much buy it every shop, so look at the price each time. It's currently cheaper to buy 2 smaller packs of 24 (£1.47 each) than a bigger one of 48 at £2.98. OK, it's only pence, but you get my drift. Kit Kats is another one, they're always doing so many free and sometimes it's still cheaper to get a smaller pack, but people are suckered into getting the offer pack, just assuming it'll be cheaper without even checking.
Right, gotta go, Tesco calling! :rotfl:0 -
First post, so be gentle!
Found a few packs of Soft grip clothes pegs, on clipstrip next to clothes airers. Barcode ending 1027 scan at 3p. Some have stickered barcode ending in 41 and these scan at £2.29.0 -
I personally think it works like this..
Some Tesco will sell u the product at 1p so that they do not have to pay to get rid of the rubbish...cos its very expensive to pay someone to get rid of the waste.
and some Tescos either want the stuff themselves for the staff or want to pay someone to get rid of the waste and be out of pocket...
If this was true, staff at Tesco, in Wells, Somerset, would not have been sacked last October for buying 1p peanuts. Tesco treat their staff A LOT WORSE than their customers!!!Tescos latest enemy.........0
