Very true and that's where R&R had the upper hand.
You see, I can't be bothered with selling as with having young kids, the hassle of getting to the post office etc makes it unappealing. If it were easier I'd be buying up every DTD I could find and selling it either on fleabay or at a car boot.
Still, I'm finding DTD to be very handy. I may not be able to find lots of worthwhile items but the number of innocent DTDs I've had in the last week is astounding.
well, I could move my as* to post office for a free 80-100GBP each item
obv not worth it with those landline phones, dinner sets, headphones or blackberry cases(LOL) as you won't get much for it but the famous r&r items would be a whole different story...0 -
Quick question: what is the deal with products showing "Please see member of staff" when scanning at the price checker? I found a couple of toys at my local Mr. T - they both have normal SEL but show this message when scanned."Retail is for suckers"

I could be wrong but I think it's a dodgy scanner. I had this before where an price checker said to contact a member of staff but it scanned perfectly ok at a different price checker and at the till.0 -

The scanner in our local did that last week when I scanned the belt, so I left it. Belt was still there this week, scanned it again and it gave a price, so I bought it! Didn't want to risk getting into problems at the till with the 'please see a member of staff' message! I thought it might be to do with whether the item was on their system correctly, but who knows, they seem to be a law unto themselves!0 -

I've had this a few times. It did it to me in one shop on the kitty eggs but when I scanned them on self service they went through as 1p. Then it did it to me on a box of chocs and again on self service, the SA checked and said it wasnt on their system so they couldnt sell them to me.So I think it usually means end of line or discontinued but always worth a try on self service as sometimes it goes through at a cheap price!Beware!!!! I've bought several Belgian Chocolate puddings over the weeks all from the same store and all for 87p. Today they went through at £3.50! Fortunately as I hadn't left the store I got a refund. HTH0

I do well in W'rose and Sainsburys with end of day reductions, but I'm dying to take part in the T's game. I got nervous on the way to Bar hill the other day thinking of DTD and meeting the trouts, but alas I found nothing, not even some chilli nuts. Got all excited :j over a solitary box of koko until it scanned at £4  so I left them
Hey rufydoofyM  Bar Hill and Royston are my two regular stores (Royston more so than Bar Hill as it's on my way home although Bar Hill is nearer) I never find much of interest in Bar Hill, but am sure someone posted quite recently about getting lots of Roses there, so the bargains are there sometimesFor the record I've never had a problem with CS at Royston (so far!) and I have never had to ask for DTD, they have always just given it (quite often for stuff from the reduced sections which have then gone through at full price...it's quite nice being paid to take your dinner home some nights
) Bar Hill has a much better "World Foods" section than Royston, I usually end up waddling out of Bar Hill with loads of cheap spices, herbs and pulses
