really silly question but what is R&R please?
From what I can gather it was Refund & Retain. If an item scanned at even 1p dearer than the SEL you were refunded the amount you paid and got to keep the item. For that kind of result these days you need to find and item with an SEL of half price or better that scans full price. Mind you, some people have made money on DTD which I don't think was possible with R&R but as I didn't know about it, I will await someone to correct me!0 -
Ahhh...thanks Caz2703. Before joining this and the coupon thread I thought I was quite saver savvy but this has opened up a whole new world to me...and made me wish I had studied that Maths A-Level after all lol!Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Do you mean you can't imagine to be able to make money with free xbox'es and ps3(+tv's and whatever else there was)??:eek::eek:
I CAN... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

As I said, I didn't know about R&R but if what I've read is correct then:
R&R - item SEL £10, scans at £30, result is free item and refund of £30
DTD - item SEL £10, scans at £30, result is free item, refund of £40 and profit of £10
The only way to make money was to resell whereas DTD saves you that hassle or have I missed the point?0 -
With R&R if you were overcharged by 1p you got all your money back plus kept the item.
With DTD you'd just get 2p back and keep the item.0 -

no, you didn'tI meant to resell them... wouldn't be hard to make some(loads?) money if you had lots of stores nearby... or not that nearby...
dtd items(for free) are hardly ever something like xbox, ps3, tv or laptop... those are never(?) on half price...0 -
if chocolates disappear it's because the staff have taken them
our next door neighbour gave an entire carrier bag filled with cadbury creme eggs, mini eggs, caramel eggs etc
which were all obviously a penny but the staff take everything in the back0 -
i only tried sold them tea as was 6 boxes id not made from it just had a few to many really so thought id list them
if id found all these eggs people found id of eat them all by now as i eat loads chocolate i prefer solid choc i not that fond of roses haha i seam find stuff i not as keen on0 -

Very true and that's where R&R had the upper hand.czerniacha wrote: »no, you didn'tI meant to resell them... wouldn't be hard to make some(loads?) money if you had lots of stores nearby... or not that nearby...

You see, I can't be bothered with selling as with having young kids, the hassle of getting to the post office etc makes it unappealing. If it were easier I'd be buying up every DTD I could find and selling it either on fleabay or at a car boot.
Still, I'm finding DTD to be very handy. I may not be able to find lots of worthwhile items but the number of innocent DTDs I've had in the last week is astounding.0 -
hall green has 11 pairs of grandad socks this evening.
the 1p value bowls are going through at £1.44 as per the sel,
phones are all up to date with sels, but noticed there were 2 that end in a couple of days time.
there were some mothers days chocs in bags that im sure are 1p, but they have the reduced stickers for 50p on them that you shouldnt tamper with
scanners in wine and spirits aisle and one in the new meat / spice& sauce aisle0
