yep, you will need to check your local tescos individually. I went to a new one near where I was making a delivery and you could see where all the 1p items had been removed!
Online they have cottoned on and removed them. but you can still try.
good luck.0 -

Does that include the Tesco Security Men following you around the store in case you are a miscreant MSEr with a list?
Or, if we wear them, will they be so distracted by our pert posteriors that we can get through the self-scanners without some dragon confiscating the shopping from our bags?
Not having an "other half" to run distraction, perhaps I should work with a mate.
I wear a low cut top so my 44H cleavage is verging on the edge of complete exposure..... and manage to spill a bag of chestnuts all over the floor by the self-scanners.(Trying to keep it seasonal!!)
SA distracted, and security cameras occupied..... friend gets through her till unchallenged:T0 -
My mother in law says there was an article in yesterdays Daily Mail, page 5 about the 1p bargains.
The reporter spoke to a spokesperson for Tesco who confirmed that the items should be sold for 1p as it was to get rid of end of line items, it was cheaper to offer them to customers at that price than to take them off the shelves and dump them basically.
If we have anyone who can scan that issue then members could take that into the store with them.0 -

I work on a clothing department in Tesco. I've had several very rude customers DEMANDING stock for 1p.
The 1p stock is for the staff to recognise, on the handheld computers they use, old stock that is to be wasted and sent off to charity. The stock is, in most cases 4 years+ old. It's reminents left over from many seasons ago. These items are usually left in the warehouse, and very rarely on a properly manned shop floor.
There is a a process in the business to get these items off of the shop floor and from the warehouse, but sometimes they gets missed. Whether it's from lack of staff, not being able to get PDAs etc. Finding one item on a large shop floor can take days. Customers and staff can move it whilst someone's searching for it.
So it's not an offer, or promotion - it's simply VERY old stock, floating around in the business from many moons ago. I do believe you are well within your rights to purchase an item if it scans up at 1p at the checkout, as it's legal tender. But you can't demand that an item of a similar description is sold for 1p (like I have been today).0
