Can someone give me advice on this DTD please? I've been reading several threads on this and thought they had stopped DTD and were only refunding the difference - or is this not the case?
It's double the difference if they over charge you in store. For example, Gordon Ramsey dinner service marked at £25, goes through till at £50, they give you £50 back.
I believe that the previous DTD was for charging more than Asda.0 -

DTD - double the difference is only available in store from CS. Should be a blue sign behind desk stating something like if we make a mistake when chaging you, (can be via SEL - shelf edge label, or marked on item like stickers) then we will refund double the difference. Some stores have been knwn to hide or tape over this, but if you have any problems it seems a call to head office usually resolves the issue very quickly. :T
I have had DTD and got v cheap drinking glasses (3 times!) and the other day got 2 x tripple packs of jaffa cakes and 3 x 27 penguin packs 'FREE' when the SEL hadn't been removed from a promotional stand.Gutted our stores don't stock the mega blocks though!

I did this after seeing that the OP had got a dinner set for free (thanks again Wool!) I'd gone through ss and paid for it separately. The cs woman didn't bat an eye lid. It's their mistake, not yours, you are entitled to DTD in that case. It was my first DTD, I simply showed her the receipt, showed her the box that had A4 size yellow stickers on it stating 50% off! £25 and she gave me £50 back. It was a very quick and painless experience.
If she'd questioned how I hadn't noticed when I was paying, I'd have told her it was only when I had a till spit for 5p off petrol with a £50 spend that it was brought to my attention.0 -

it's nice to know someone is trying to help those of us who don't have in store self scanners at all. Hopefully they will sort it soon. :beer:0

Thank you Mahri and elsie1969 for the explanation
I got a bit confused as I remember someone having a massive stash in their loft and posted on here about them being in trouble or something and everyone was a bit angry as they had 'ruined it' for everyone. I am off to Tescos to look for that GR dinner set, not sure which stores to attack though - Bridgend/Llantrisant or Swansea

Quick update for anyone in the Surrey area that may use the same stores as me.
Sutton:
Fisher Price Bigfoot £25.00 loads left
Magablock - none left - got last one yesterday for fee!
No sweeties, black magic etc
Striped glasses 4 are still scanning at a fiver with the 4 for £3 labels on so £4.00 DTD loads left
Gordon Ramsey dinner service - on the top shelf for re-filling - but not on shelf and no SEL - will keep an eye on.
New Malden
Gordon Ramsey dinner set - 4 on shelf but SEL says £50.00 DAMN
No bigfoot
No sweeties
Finest meal deal shelf still full of wrong stuff so deal not going through... can get the meal for nothing with the DTD
Purley:
Loads of custard for 40p
Kids gardening set (yellow one) 50p loads left
Nothing much else there though.

Damn.... I was just looking for the SEL to say £25.00.
Didn't realise that they had a sticker on the box.... took one look at Ramsey's ugly mug and did a runner, didn't think to look for a sticker like on the glasses and megablocks.
Will be back at a Surrey store soon... unless I am beaten to it.0 -
