be careful with the playmobil prirates. there are 2 types which look identical. one has 4 pcs written on the top right corner, but the correct one is 11 pcs on the top right corner. my store had both sorts and only the second one went through!:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I believe that the use of "1p" as a selling price was a means for tesco headoffice to flag up to the stores which items were discontinued and hence had to be removed from shelves. Its quite possible that:-
a) individual stores thought "sod that"
b) indivudal stores didnt enforce properly
c) Tesco has now changed its mind and is allowing 1p sales but this hasnt filtered down to store level who are still using the old system
result = grab them whilst you can
The reason they do it is so they can be wasted at a reduced price due to head office making the decision. That way it does not hit the store budget. It is better for the store to sell them as that way it does not hit their waste budget at all. Some stores waste them and then sell them to staff for a small amount which either goes to charity or towards the staff Christmas party as the company do not pay for one.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -

Also, they have to pay to throw stuff away. They have to ensure that everything is disposed of properly (packaging recycled etc.) so instead of doing that, marking things at 1p means that their customers do it for them.0 -

picked up a load of the french mustard in squeezy bottle yesterday. they had the right barcode but were scanning at £1.99. i did get another 7 packs of fruit and nuts though. the green packs with chocolate this time.
Are caperberries the same as capers? found the bowes capers but didnt put them in trolley as i had soo many of the mustard and thought i was getting them for a penny so didnt want to be scanning too many 1 penny items incase it drew too much attention0
