Re previous message - so sorry you got caught, this company should have been stopped from advertising well before March after all the problems encountered by innocent customers.

Suffolk Show Spot the Fake Competition- June 2011

For those that entered the prize draw last week at the Suffolk Show 2011, baseball cap B (the black cap) was the counterfeit version, the winners of the competition will be contacted shortly.

This frivolous post from Suffolk Trading Standards is the latest post on their website, nothing about Utopia now for over a month. It took STS two months to stop Utopia trading, and it is now three months without any subsequent action.

STS is rapidly becoming the villain of the peace.

Justice needs to be seen to be done, and frankly STS have been delinquent in the manner they have dealt with this company and the public. The longer that STS leaves the situation then the harder it will be to produce evidence to make a decision on whether there is any criminal intent to defraud or mislead the public. Note: that some guys have ceen without their money or goods for over 6 months now - how long does time need to elapse before this constitutes theft?

If STS is working behind the scenes, then any public body should realise that communication is just as important. If indeed computers, the content therein, bank statements have been seized then there is no harm in informing interested parties that subsequent action is being taken to determine the extent of the saga (clearly there were well over 3000 offers to purchase made).

Clearly from the post one before last no attempt is being made to contact individuals to confirm whether there are in fact 1000’s rather than 100’s of defrauded purchasers. From hearsay, sounds as though STS wants to believe there only a few cases, how do they know? Did Utopia tell them? LOL
  • Well guys, if you haven't heard Office Utopia have gone insolvent, see Suffolk trading standards website. Some gauling info I have found out is that Office Utopia petitioned the courts on 13th December 2010 to be declared bankrupt - this is before I paid for my Dyson. The Birmingham district registry reference for this is 6911/2010. I'm not quite sure what happens next, I have a county court judgement against this joker - perhaps not worth the paper it's written on.

For further information on the winding up of Utopia Consortium please contact the above office on 01473 217565.

If Utopia/Ensinger did petition for bankruptcy on 13th December 2010 and continued to take orders for Dysons after this date then it is surely a CRIMINAL act? I put criminal in capitals, bolded it and underlined it for the benefit of Suffolk Trading Standards.

In fact looking at the Suffolk Trading Standards webpages, they seem to spend an inordinate amount of time on brands, schemes and "Operation Troy" that they don't seem to do much else.

I guess this actually really says how incompetent Suffolk Trading Standards have been. If this is true then why didn't STS find out? What was all this about STS working with Utopia since January? If Ensinger didn't tell them, then surely all this guff from STS about new banking facilities etc was plainly untrue. At the very least Ensinger is guilty of misleading the public, and STS (STS were questioned about this as far back as February).

What about all these newbies who posted glowing reports-how many of these were Ensinger in disguise? Maybe MSE should do something to limit people creating multiple IDs - maybe post their IP address on subsequent ID's?

I also wonder about those "real" people who posted glowing reports - were they given incentives to say these things - one rough individual said he bought two (and I know where he works too)?

I would also like to see a public statement from STS what lessons have been learnt - someone's head should also be on the chopping block.

My Brother-in-law works for the CAB, what he says about trading standards generally can't be repeated, but basically head-in-the-sand, indolent, and lacking focus.

    End of vent........

I just hope nobody got duped by the quite obvious fake posters of "satisfied customers" that were mocking me when this all came up originally.

Just for info, Suffolk Trading standards this month have successfully prosecuted a family for selling counterfeit DVDs on Ebay. It took them 3 years from Feb 2008 to get a result.

So on that basis Ensinger and co might expect their court appearance in 2014!

Not sure why it takes so long.............

I got a letter this morning from The Insolvency Service regarding Utopia Consortium, apparently there is no prospect of a distribution of funds. John/Anthony is £91,790.62 in debt. A petition was made to the Insolvency Service by VOW Europe Ltd on the 13th December.

In short he duly sold all of us Dyson's with no prospect of delivering them. When does this become fraud? Call me vindictive but if I can't have my money back I'd like him to be prosecuted. I work for my money, why shouldn't he.

All these satisfied customers were surely just a con or is it fraud to get even more people to send him £115. I thought I was so over all this but let me tell you the letter this morning has my blood boiling.

Hi, you may remember me. I was one of those that persistently called those posters supporting Utopia liars, only to be bombarded with ridicule.

Today i received a letter telling me the company was in liquidation.

This won't help many people now, but i did follow my own advice and threaten to take John Ensinger to court. I got my money back 24 hours before the court application was due to be filed. I think this was back in January or February.

Taught me a lesson, but i will never let anyone get away with trying to defraud me. If he still owed me money, i would probably have visited him by now. If you're not that confident, then there are plenty of inventive ways to get back at him - his address and telephone numbers are within this forum.
