WARNING Utopia Office Ltd consortium - cheap Dyson DC31 Animal - or not!

The advice is to 'continue to liaise on a daily basis'.
How do they propose we do this when we have been trying, some of us for months, to even get a reply from a phone call, an email, or a response to a registered letter?
How can there be a 'cash flow issue' when the cash is all flowing in to the company and no purchases appear to be being made?0 -
Open letter to Suffolk Trading Standards
Your most recent update to your website is more negative than your original post, insomuch that the likelihood of Utopia Consortium being able to fulfil its obligations to its creditors is less likely. The risk that Utopia will go into liquidation is very high, the longer that Utopia is allowed to continue, makes the subsequent investigation of the facts more difficult. Hence, Suffolk Trading Standards needs to ring fence all assets, sequester the records and computer data, and begin to investigate all alleged criminal activity, and identify via bank records where all receipts have been paid out to.
The facts are these:
1. Credit Card companies refused to give Utopia any facilities, Utopia’s offer to accept CC payments were known for many months as being untrue.
2. Banks have withdrawn their services.
3. Utopia has misled the public with its offer to supply goods via its website, with no assurance that it could supply the goods; statements about items being in stock were untrue.
To date there has been no information made available by Suffolk Trading Standards as to the number of creditors that are waiting for refunds; secondly how do they know that the list is actually complete? It would assist in putting the whole sorry saga into perspective if numbers, as believed, that are owed money are quantified.
This would also put into perspective as the amount of money that has gone “missing”; for example if there were say on average 15 orders per day over the last 6 months, and lets say that only 20% were fulfilled, then the receipts would be £300,000 assuming an average price of £110 per Dyson. If 80% were not delivered then £240,000 has “disappeared”.
Its upto Suffolk Trading Standards to dispute these numbers; not to do so lends credibility to this scenario.0 -
I ordered on 4 December and my order number is 0-14--. I feel sure someone else posted they had ordered on 8 December and their order number was 0-18--, although I cannot find it now.
Potentially there could be 100 orders per day or even more, and my Dyson was £220.
Could others post their order numbers and dates so that we (robmar0se please help!) can gauge the numbers involved?0 -
I ordered on 7th December 2010. My order no. is O-1390. I have sent numerous emails, left many messages and sent recorded delivery letters, and phoned trading standards to add me to the list of people owed money, as I was not on their list. I'm hoping as a last resort that as a group we can gain the power to get our money back.0

I asked Suffolk TS about the numbers involved last week when I rang them. At that time, they thought they were looking at just over a hundred customers involved. I pointed out to them that, as Utopia were taking orders until mid March, there must be many more involved in this scam and they will only now be starting to realise that there is a problem with their order.
I suspect that the number of customers will not really be known until around the end of May/beginning of June as it will take that long for people to go through the same waiting, emailing, phone calling enquiries process that the rest of us tried before finding the reports on this site.
My order number is 2861 on Feb 15th. but some of the order numbers are likely to have been for items other than Dysons.0 -
I ordered on the 30th December and my order number is 0-2179.0
-
My Order No is 0-2183 31st December - and John Chaplin at Suffolk said it was on his list0

Thanks for the figures and dates, working from those it seems like 31 per day at that time?
Hope more figures come in.
Happy Easter, - leave the hoovering (if you're lucky enough to have one, that is!).0 -
Quote from Hurdeyman.
While it is possible that Suffolk Trading Standards are correct that there only a 100 orders outstanding, I suggest this is unlikely. Are Suffolk Trading Standards being hoodwinked as so may customers have been?
· The order numbers are a clue
· The fact that Ensinger was paying Google for top listing on “Dyson”, every search for Dyson Utopia came up as a top 3 listing.
· Utopia’s price was the best on the net.
Surely these facts indicate that orders were in thousands not hundreds, further the random nature of outstanding orders does beg some questions:
· Was Ensinger just incompetent? Not very likely bearing in mind some other issues.
· Was Ensinger just paying off the trouble makers?
· Did Ensinger deliver items for customers who were induced to make a positive review in order to get their Dysons?
· Why did some customers claim that their orders were delivered in Amazon boxes?
I suggest that Suffolk Trading Standards need to dig a little deeper, because if there is a fraud involved perpetrators will try to hide their tracks.
Easter Tidings to one and all..............0 -
