I agree in hindsight I shouldn't have paid in cash - but regardless it was my decision and my "savviness" was regarding the investigation of looking at Utopia reviews on the net. Paying £84 was a risk I was willing to take - and I'm I did - saved me around £50

Yes - I can also read the earlier posts too. Most people have logged on here having experienced non-receipt of their Dyson vacuum and wouldn't have known about Utopia hiding behind the CC problem for over 6 months upfront of their purchase.

Understand you and others think the newbies are probably fictional characters devised by Utopia - there may well be cases of this. I'm unlikely to continue posting on this site unless other problems bring me back (which kinda proves in all my years of internet shopping and money saving one bad experience makes me a lot more internet savvy than some). Obviously got better things to do now that all has been resolved - appears some people have too much time on their hands :beer:

I'm just a bit curious; all these (so called) 'Oldies' who are questioning us 'Newbies' must have originally come across this site and registered for a reason. Was it to complain about someone, defend someone or just offer up your opinion or knowledge? When originally doing so, did you get vilified for pointing out your position or experience? The point I make is that you started somewhere with a view be it good or bad, so why is it that on this thread when any 'Newbies' appear to offer up an opinion, we tend to be banished aside as being untruthful, linked to the company or giving false hope?

You may not like the Company; you may have a grudge against the individuals, that is your prerogative, but please respect other people’s views. I am bemused as to why people are bitter about those that have had their orders honoured. You have made your point about warning people about ordering with Utopia, a position (on reflection) I would concur with. But don’t cast doubt on the credibility and truthfulness of those ‘Newbies’ who are just expressing their experience, after all you were one once.

You seem to be taking this personally, when the comments were aimed at the sudden influx of new users all with the same "happy" message.

The users who have been here for longer then 5 minutes are always going to be sceptical, and when the scam is as transparent as this one by Utopia I doubt anyone trying to defend it is going to get a great deal of "welcoming".

Gee, what am I going to do tonight? I think I might go and google for, and then and join a money saving forum with a huge membership just to tell them my ordered product actually arrived.

you are missing the point, most of the older members dont like the idea of Utopia using the good name of MSE in an attempt to scam.

MSE is way up the Google list when people search for something, and to have an influx of users all waxing lyrically about how good Utopia is, and how they all got their items gets my (our) backs up.

Join the site, but use the site for it's purpose which isnt to make post #1 a pro-Utopia "oh gee, I'm so lucky with my bargain Dyson that St John of Utopia sent me".

Even amongst the most optimistic posters, does this sound like an upset buyer?

I do believe you are missing the point....who has 'waxed lyrical' about Utopia and how can you speak on behalf of most 'oldies'? Or are you one person with a number of user Id's of your own? The same reason you are using against 'Newbies', can be used back against 'oldies' !

People have posted their EXPERIENCE of their transaction and dealings, whether that be their first post or hundred and tenth. You do not seem to accept the validity of these, which makes me suspicious, but that is your problem not mine. Who is to say you do not work for Utopia? and that you want the thread to continue so as to keep it at the top of a Google search ! After all, there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Leave any issues that MSE have with Utopia in the hands of the moderators. I am sure if they do not like any comment or thread it will be removed, its not for you to police.

They may not, but I am sure if there was something you did not approve of etc. you can report it, that’s what the 'Abuse' button would be for! As an advocate and 'oldie' on the site, I am sure you would do this and uphold the good name of MSE, if you truly felt it was untrue or inappropriate. Or would you want the thread to continue for your own self-serving purpose.......mmmm I wonder.

New to this site because I found this link on google - only wish l'd googled utopia before l placed my order.

Like most of us here we are only here because we don't have our dyson dc31 - well done to those of you who may have received them! Not sure if l believe any of you that have, but will let you all know if and when l get mine.

Sending emails daily and trying to phone their landline but caller box is always full, they have mobiles - what are their numbers and who is Caroline in accounts? who gets things moving!

I have nothing to do with Utopia, John or Anthony - would like to give them a piece of mt mind though.

I'm also a new victim of Utopia. I paid £219 for my Dyson, with an email and offer of reduction of £5. Like a fool I sent the money, with hindsight I can't believe I've been so daft. I've used ebay and bought online for a few years and this is the first time I've been robbed. I sent my original payment on 7/1/2011, so they are still operating their scam. Will continue trying to get a refund, and will also be more sceptical in future, how sad.
