Everyone, Thank you for all your advice.
I rang back to see about negociations, and was informed they didnt want to proceed end of story.
Rang buyers direct at this point, who told me that they found somewhere else that they fell in love with more than ours, and put an offer in, which was accepted. So no hard feelings....
Uhm....
This must be the most saddest i have been in a very long time.
Need to now ring our Venders EA and let them know. I wonder whether what they will say. They are moving into a New Build in March, and this is the 3rd time its collapsed on them.
I wonder if they would be happy to stick with us? I doubt it....Goodbye dream house.0 -
You still have a chance, get your house sold..0

Oddgy, keep your house on the market. There's as much chance of you finding a buyer as your vendors finding another one. Your vendors won't dump you altogether, they will stick by you if you find another buyer, I'm sure.
If there isn't much competition, then you'd be silly to wait for spring. Your EA will be on your side and eager to find you another sale, I bet.
Stick it out. You just might get your house after all. These things are sent to try usEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

We want to sell as we want this house - - thats what we are telling ourselves!!!! And buggrr the spring, we need to do it now!! Thats right....!!
Weve sold out table and chairs as well as we have a new one at the new house, thats a mistake as now the dining room hasnt a table and chairs. I hope that doesnt cause a problem. (Lesson learnt....wait til exchanged...!)
Ive unpacked boxes tonite, and sort of put things back to where they originated. Pictures are back on the walls, lampshades are put back up, boxes have been collapsed and stored, even had the paitbrush out touching up. My fiancee didnt want to, as she spent ages warpping things up in paper and packing them neatly - she doesnt know ive done this yet as shes out tonite. But i feel it has to look like its lived in and not all packed up ready to go as it can give the idea we are desperate. Even tho we are, we dont want to come across.
Thanks for the positive words, i feel better reading yoru encouragement, you know, you guys are wonderful and its made me feel so much better that you have helped me believe there is still hope at the end of the day.
I know we shouldnt be gutted as we still have a room over our head, its just the thought of loosing that dream as im sure loads of you will understand, so thanks.
Our venders were very nice people, so they may as you say hold out. Lets hope eh.
Just got to pursuade my fiancee that keeping it on the market is the best thing, she was really depressed tonite, and was just thinking be better to take it off and give us a break from it all.
It does make you feel like youve aged tho doesnt it, going through the stress of it all.
Anyhow, Yes its back on the market, apparantly since Friday. However, its still not on rightmove - apparantly they are having a problem with the uploading of properties...so EA says anyway.
Ill keep you posted - !! :-)

Good Luck
Victorian Terraces are very popular and because there are often so many in a street, it is very easy to guage how much they should sell for.
You've already sold once at near asking, albeit to timewasters (IMO); you'll do it again soon
Give your fiancee a big fat kiss and a cup of tea when she gets in. She'll be happier to see the things that make it home back out againEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Good luck selling again Odggy, Im sure it will sell quickly next time.
If your local to me, I seem to have three dining tables at the moment (dont ask)
Keep your fingers crossed that my nightmare chain exchanges soon xPawpurrs x0 -
HiYa - ive been quiet for a few days....been layed up in bed. Nasty Virus is going round, and knocked me off my feet!!
Anyhow - Just thought id let you know that our new buyers had their surveyor come on Wednesday, she said she found no problems, so we are now hoping with fingers crossed, that she was telling the truth!!
I take it we should here in a few days, or not so, if there isnt any problems.
If it does turn out that their isnt any problems, all this drama we had been through with the last surveyor with Wood Worm, Damp and a 5k retention, was all for nothing. It will make a mockery of the whole system.
We will have to see - and i am dying to find out to let you know!!0 -
Sounds promising Odggy so pleased for you, I am living amongst boxes at the moment! Cant wait to be in to the new place now. I too have been ill with some sort of stomach upset, horrible, thought it was food posioning but apparantly there is a lot going around.
The problems that came up on your last survey were so minor, that most buyers and lenders wouldnt have a problem with it, so try not to worry. Easier said than done eh!Pawpurrs x0 -
I realise this is a REALLY old thread, but I've got a question I'd like some answers to.
We're interested in a property, the sale on it has just falled through due to a collapse in the chain so it's come back onto the market. We know the previous offer accepted was about £190,000 - surveyor has reported no nasty surprises, but we know the whole house needs rewiring, plastering, new windows (no double-glazing), new boiler, bathroom, kitchen and general updating. Surveyor is happy with the price they were paying for it, but we've been told now that someone in the past (it's been on the market nearly a yr now) has placed a £100K retention on the property!!!! We don't have that kinda money, the whole place needs about £30,000 work and would then be worth around £130-£140,000. I don't get the £100K retention.
Does this sound fishy to anyone - esp. since the latest surveyor has said he's happy with them paying £190K for it?!?0
