    Morning all, rubbish weather huh?!

Not much OS today, just need to hoover round. Lunch is soup and dinner is baked potato, cheese and coleslaw. Got a date tonight but think he might be a bit like the weather i.e wet so might be a short one. Still, getting dressed up and having a few drinks is always fun!

    Have good days all XXX

    Morning :hello:

River Cottage was fab. Met the Three Hungry Boys and the man who's grown the first British shallot, had a chat with John Wright and bought his new book, Hedgegrow - he signed it for us :D Had a lesson in chilli growing from Michael Michaud. Actually it'll be quicker to just say - everyone from River Cottage was there :D Wonderful mackerel for lunch  Came home with some books, seeds, shallots and some fabulous bread  We picked up some brilliant business and marketing tips, and even ended up with a business opportunity from one of the suppliers :j:j :silenced: :silenced:

Had a lazy morning yesterday, then nipped to the GP. Mr tru has a pain under his ribs, he thought he'd pulled a muscle but instead of easing off it was getting worse. GP thinks it's a blood clot on his lung and would've done blood tests there and then, but he wanted the results straight away and it was too late in the day for that. He rang A&E and told them we'd be there in 10 mins. We rushed to the hospital - where he was seen 2 hours later and they didn't take any blood, just said it's a pulled muscle. Dunno how they know that, it's under his ribs, you can't feel anything, just bone. I'm ringing the GP at 8.30 today, he'll get mr tru in for blood tests first thing. Very worried GP, very worried hospital receptionist, very worried triage nurse (all three said "you DROVE here??"), couldn't-care-less doctor. I'm bloody furious

The washing's on the line, I'll clean out the guinea pigs then ring the GP. Rest of the day's plans depend on what the doc says.

Morning all............................(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.

Happt birthday Mol, have a great trip and enjoy being with your family, after all the hard work on your french house you deserve a break.

Tru....hope everything is ok with Mr Tru.

Wilko's is opening today in a town not too far from us, so guess where we are off after lunch??? I need to do a shopping list and compare the cost of what used to be Charmin loo paper, it was £6 for 24 rolls in Tesco last week.

Weather is foul, its blowing a hoolie, pouring with rain, dark and dank, we have the light on in the sitting room. I lit the new stove last night, we are still running it in, the fan pushed the heat down the hall to the bedroom door and there was a distinct warmth in the bathroom when I went in for my shower, so it looks like the stove is going to work ok. The fire wasn't that high either, cannot build a big fire until the stive has been seasoned so the metal casting does not crack. Had a message from DS2 he is going to build me a fire surround, hopefilly he will be able to come up and fit it, I have to send him the measurements. He is also talking about tiling the back behind the stove.

OH is like a caged lion this morning he cannot get out in his garden, heaven help me when the real winter sets in, I will have to find him something to do otherwise he will drive me do lally.

Sausage and mash for supper tonight, I am going to peel some of the apples ny neighbour brought me last night, will make an apple crumble. DD1 and SIL have asked for balckberry and apple pie when they come up, so I might bake one and freeze it. When they were here last time I made a cheesecake using a Greens mix, they thought I had made it myself, (well I had in a way) how do I get away with making another one if they are around all the time?????

Time to go coffee calls..................have a good day...............
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Morning.....

    Happy Birthday Mioliere.

Tru fingers crossed that all is well with Mr Tru.

JackieO best of luck with the arm thingy.

Jackieg weight loss vibes on the way.

Apologies if I've missed someone I should've replied to - I'm a bit scatty today; hossy appointment at 14:00, and I'm already having blue kittens and purple puppies, because I'm terrified of medical bods.:(
Mr LW is (of course) coming with me, and he sat last night and helped me compile a list of what we need to mention (not that they'll take a blind bit of notice, but hey ho!)

Westies have been fed and watered, and have been out to the garden - several times (I swear Cameron's taking the mick:D) and they're currently sprawled on the lounge carpet. Will be putting them in the kitchen with half a Dentastick each and the radio playing Classic FM while we go to the hossy.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Monring all,

Its not too bad a day here though I think it might rain later. There is a washing mountain to tackle  (first load in the machine atm), so I'll just have to stick it on the clothes horses or in the dryer if i get desperate.

Hope your trip goes well Mioliere. Are there any british things that you can't get in france that you'll take home with you?

Hester - I hope work goes Ok today. Sometimes people just push you too far.

Well done to those who have been productive and tackled their ironing mountains (Essex-Girl). Ironing is one of my most hated jobs, and i only do it about every 8 weeks....:D:o:p Hubby does a few of his work shirts each week, but we don't iron much else.

JackieG, I hope Coco is OK. Vets are so expensive! £25 just to walk through the door.....

Good luck with your diet - sending you willpower vibes.:T I'm sure you'll make good food choices today :).

Bargainbird - I need a neighbour with an apple tree! I love stewed apple, pies, crumble etc. My dream for our next house is to have a garden with fruit trees :)

Tru - sorry to hear about Mr Tru - I'm not surprised you were worried and angry. Let us know how you get on with the GP if you get chance.....

Csarina - your woodburner sounds lovely.:) my mum and dad have just had one installed and can't wait for winter to set in so they have it going all the time :rotfl: my dad is retiring next year and i think their plan is to have the stove ticking over rather than having the heating on all the time.

Well, today my plans are modest!:rotfl:;) I didn't sleep very well, so will need to have nap later. There's washing to tackle, and i'm going to make a pastryless spinach quiche for tea with some roasted tomatoes and baked potatoes. I cooked the spinach yesterday (it was huge homegrown stuff from a friend) with some garlic and butter, so it will be easy to make the quiche with some eggs and cottage cheese.

Right, I need a snack, so going to investigate the kitchen contents..... (the 73% cocoa solids mint chocolate i have tried isn't hitting the spot - tastes odd to me).

    Take care,

    Ali xx

    morning!

bit late for me but I've been busy - took DS2 off for a 9 hour training shift at Morrisons then met Mum for a coffee at the W.I. - home now to catch up as due to working Sat, Sun, and Mon not done a clat so to speak and got a friend coming later to meet Louie so want the place respectable.

2 loads of washing on the line - its nice and sunny here and a bit breezy although they do forcast possible showers.
kitchen and bathroom cleaned, floors mopped.
need to vac the lounge and bedrooms.
jacket spud for lunch and salmon fillet for tea.

    Mioliere - Happy Birthday!

JackieG - happy weight watching! x

Tru - hope Mr Tru is ok x

Hester - good luck at work!;)

off for a quick browse while I drink my coffee x

Oh dear, today is just gonna be one of those days.
Going out for pub food last night meant getting in at one (and watching a drugged up woman straight-bash, scream, terrify people and eventually get taken away by police- in kingston?!), luckily i only had three pints interspersed with diet pepsi. A nice big glass of diet pepsi with a couple of ice cubes is wonderful in a hot cramped pub. Got home and the rain had soaked our flat(two floors above a shop)... the kitchen cupboard under the split gutter on the roof was dripping and there is a huge puddle in the living room which is on the middle floor! This is a complete mystery as the kitchen is understandable, but the living room?! The ceiling doesn't look wet, it's away from the windows and it radiates from a wall but is only wet on one side, our "handy man" thinks water getting in at the kitchen might be getting in to the loft space between the two floors.
Had a horrible sleep and feel like a zombie! Frantic packing! I'm away for 8 days tomorrow!
My cousin gets into Euston at 1pm and needs to get a train from waterloo to mine, she'd already planned a walking route but the Northern line is the only line with good service! YESS!
We're going to Copenhagen tomorrow, so have to get up at 3am to get to Gatwick for our early flight :(

Copenhagen and Stockholm are quite expensive for food/drink and we can't really buy a whole jar of coffee or box of cereal when we're there as we're moving around a lot so i have 6x sachets cappucino 5x instant porridge, 3x cupasoup and a lidl fake twix! All I need is some hot water and i'm sorted with my trusty camping mug and spork! We want to minimise everyday food costs so we can go out to eat a few times, I love fish so I'm really looking forward to a traditional "herring, bread & butter, coffee and wine" meal in Copenhagen!

Oh goddd! I hope you're all having good days free of leaks and delays! I'm told the roads in central London are at a stand still with buses not letting anyone on!
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:

    Morning All

Beautiful here at the moment after hammering it down last night
Got the last of the washing on the line so hopefully it will dry before the next batch of rain gets here.

Wondering if we are one of the millions who will get a tax demand or rebate - knowing our luck lately it will be a demand :(

Hester...:T I don't blame you I would have said -No Shouted! the same thing. Hope you have a kettle in your office or at the very least a flask :)

Another NSD day which is always a plus :D so I am pottering around - my knees are still sore so it won't be anything too strenuous.

I will probably sew up the lacy hand warmers I knitted yesterday for DD's stocking while she is out.

Dinner tonight is suasage toad and a plum cobbler for dessert(next door neighbour gave me a load from her trees yesterday)

    :bdaycake:Happy Birthday Moiliere

tru...... That is downright disgusting  I would go back to A&E and demand a second opinion - don't forget that the so called Doctors at this time of year are students, who lets face it wouldn't know a sprain from a ligament tear. At the very least Mr tru should have been X-Rayed.

JackieO and lameWolf Good vibes for the hossy today

JackieG ((((Luck)))) for the Diet x

    Well I am off

Hope everone has good days x
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
