Hi there! This is the Old Style Daily Thread for Tues 7th September 2010. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier![*]As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.[*]When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.[*]Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just fine
Morning:( It appears to be raining again.
I have plastering to do and I can't do it in the rain. So morning off potentially wasted. Well I guess I will have to do something else.
DH3 has now moved into lodgings. Good church friends so she will be OK. Starts college tomorrow.
I bought some good wine in ASDA last night as they have lots of bottles on offer at £3. Good stuff too. I got Rosemount chardonnay among that lot, but I prefer red, so some nice ones of those too.... I guess it will go fast once the news it out.
Work at 1300. So best get the one packed lunch made. OH is waiting for supply teaching work... there is none and too many unemployed teachers in our part of the country.
Well folks have a good day

Morning all
Off to work soon, yesterday I used the 'F' word followed by the 'OFF' word to a member of staff so today could be interesting. I hate people who are disorgaised & then try to blame someone else. She said I needed to start work earlier, just to suit her, so today I shall keep my door locked until my start time & do work from my inbox.
Sorry very little os going on here, though I was given a bag of apples yesterday & then hubby was given a bag too, this evening will be mainly taken up with making cakes & crumbles.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning N9eav, Hester & all to follow. Good Luck at work today Hester!
Wet & miserable here too
Had a very productive day yesterday, deep cleaned the lounge, just need to blacken the fire grate so will pop out this morning to get the stuff. Also need some cornflour but thats it so won't be spending a lot.
Have enough office work to keep me going
but I won't stay in here all day - give myself a smaller office to do list each day which is achievable then I can get stuff done round the house as well.
Ironing is up straight too :jironed it as it came off the line yesterday :T these things make me very happy :rotfl:
Trying a new recipe for Chinese Chicken & Mushrooms I found on here tonight Day 2 and still sticking to menu plan
Gotta go and wake the kids, hope to pop back later.x0 -
Morning all,
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Moiliere, have a great day, although I suspect you are already on your way home xx
Been raining heavy here all night, stopped now but we are due more today and tomorrow, its also very cold and damp, feels like November.
I have to do my at home work today, will take me 3 - 4 hours, so will do that one I have dropped dd off, I also need to pop to the shop and get some pillows, have none for the spare room.
I will then have a good tidy and clean through downstairs, did upstairs yesterday. No washing to do today, too wet anyway, I have taken a chicken out of the freezer for dinner, will roast it, in fact might do a roast cos dd missed it on Sunday, will make a curry for tomorrow night from it too.
Jackie G did not get time to pm you yesterday, will do it today.
Thanks for all the good wishes yesterday, its like having 30 best friends on here :T
Have good days all xx0 -

Hardup Hester - hope work is ok today! x
Dark and damp here this morning. Not raining now but rained most of the night, looks like winter outside. Busy day at work yesterday due to a mixture of no staff and everyone getting back to normal after the holidays etc.
Last night's gammon was good, and I managed to slice it and get some put aside to go into tonights pasta dish before anyone realised! OH was late in last night as he finished up going to Wales yesterday so he didn't get in until 8.30pm and has gone early this morning, so he missed his haircut last night but hairdresser is a friend so she will come back next Monday. Tonights dinner is gammon and mushrooms with pasta in a creme fraiche sauce with HM banana and honey loaf, fruit or yogurt for dessert.
Eldest has Army Cadets tonight, so mum will be a taxi! Just have today and half day tomorrow then days off, will be the first time alone to be able to crack on with all the jobs that have not been done whilst kids on hols, not sure where to start really! It will be all the usual stuff, especially DS2's bedroom - that's a complete pit - needs a really good bottoming out.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Plan for this morning is to take Coco back to the vets, the rash has pretty much gone, TG, so it looks like it was only an allergy after all! She has been pulling her backside though, I think she may need that looking at
More money, and me on a NoSpend Day, too!
I am restarting my WW diet today too, unfortunately because I've been a bit down, I've pyt most of my weight back on. I am really cross with myself, I really need to lose this weight before it makes me ill:( So, please wish me luck, and give me willpower vibes please:)
OS today? Washing, ironing, tidying, cleaning out the cupboard under the stairs. The boys need stuff for lunchboxes, so I'll get that done too.
Have a lovely day everyone, hugs to everyone in need. JackieO I think you said you are going to see about your arm today, if that's right, Good Luck with that too.

Morning all
Been such a long weekend - was away with my old scout group, then graduation yesterday, and straight back to uni today to carry on with my teacher training... No rest for the wicked! Managed to organised myself enough last night to have made my lunch and got my things together ready before bed, so luckily this morning all I needed to do was pull tea out of the freezer and make myself a coffee
Got a couple of lectures today, and a workshop session this afternoon, and then meeting my new scout group tonight, should be fun. Need to get a move on though, need to stop on the way into uni to get some passport photos done, for my ID card. Need to spend when I get there as well, got to get my parking permits (I was going to start taking the bus... It takes about 5 times as long as driving, and will cost me roughly 3 times as much a day - not encouraging me to use public transport there!), *and* do some food shopping tonight. Ah well, at least when it's done the next few days should be very cheap
(Hugs) to everyone who wants/needs, and hope everyone has good days

Morning everyone
Bit chilly here this morning. Dry at the moment but I don't think it will stay that way for long, just hope I can get to work before the rain starts.
Been outside to stick my hand through the fence to get a few blackberries to go in my lunchtime yoghurt:D really wish I could get to the rest.
Have got some towels finishing off in the TD at the moment, need to do a quick tidy up in the kitchen, then that's it till 6 tonight, I really need to take a day off to give everywhere a good going over.
Enjoy your day xxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Morning folks, hugs to anyone who needs one, well done Hester sometimes... just sometimes folk push you too far, hope work goes ok.
Winter feels as though it has arrived. Its very dark and windy here this morning but no rain yet - no doubt it will be on the way. Not sure what is for tea tonight, our group that co-operatively buy groceries together should have a delivery late today, from Stornoway of their world class black pudding, but no doubt that may be delayed by the weather if its stormy out in the islands, so we may or not have a nice fry up tonight if it arrives. Our local butchers here sells the same product for over £10, we have managed to get it from the butcher in Stornoway at £5.80 per 1.5kg roll - we ordered 15 between us and the total including delivery is £86 .... a bargain!
Really have to move - its gone 8 and I have to be out the door by half past and still have to shower, iron clothes and tidy up....hope you all have a good day,
suzyEvery days a School day!0
