Wow, thanks for all your input. I would get a refund but it will cost me an extra £70 to buy it at now prices. That's why I was miffed. Oh, and the poor customer service.
I'll give it another 10 ten days then contact Consumer Direct and then chalk it up to experience.
Here's hoping!
Thanks guys.0 -
From the orginal message you say you ordered it with currys but not through a store. DSG who run currys run all their businesses as independants. If they say their out of stock they will probably have it in at a store/pc world/currys digital or even dixons online, but they won't move from one to the other as it involves more tax on moving items from company to company.
I agree it is extremly annoying, if they've offered you a refund i'd accept it and move on.0 -

.
Oh God, the amount of stock I've transferred over from PC World next door must be... *runs from the taxman*
Also, we had an update today - they're being delivered in next week, and the outstanding orders will be fulfilled.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Stock is moved between stores etc at store level a lot, and i'd imagine the same is done within with the website. From the orginal message you say you ordered it with currys but not through a store. I'm guessing DSGi got a special deal on the TV which lead them to be able to sell for the £399 price... while they still have stock of the TV, it may well be they can no longer source it at a price to make £399 viable. And so as the cost price goes back to what it was before, so does the sale price.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -
I was searching on here for somewhere to complain about this - EXACTLY the same thing happened to me with this TV. To add to insult, they were still advertising the TV at £399 after they had, very nonchalantly, told me that therey were out of stock and had 'no idea' when they would be coming back into stock. I thought this whole attitude was a disgrace when they had already taken my money a couple of weeks before and I had stayed in waiting for the 3 day delivery slots apportioned.
I emailed them a week ago but they can't even be bother replying to it!0 -
The same has happened to me and I am sooooo frustrated. I've waited ten days for them to send me an email with delivery dates. I phone them today to request when my telly's being delivered, only to be told that there isn't one available!!! I'm 6 months pregnant, have offered to drive the 30 miles to the nearest branch who has one in stock (I live in a remote village in North Wales!!) only to be told that I have to pay the new price of £479 and have the inconvenience of fetching it!!! I've asked to speak to a manager from the call centre, who is 'unavailable'!! promised a call back within the hour, but still nothing!!! Surely this just isn't on, they can't get away with it??? I'm quite shocked to find others in the same situation, surely there's something somewhere some regulation that can stop companies like this from doing this?? I had originally gone on to Comet web-site to order a telly, but their web-site clearly stated that it was out of stock and as I really really wanted a new telly (a woman thing!!!) I went and looked on the Curry's web-site that stated that it was in stock!!! Only to be told more than a week later that they're not !!! Do I
a) ask for refund
b) ask for them to pay the £80 difference and I collect from my nearest branch
c) Wait the 28 days for delivery that they still might breach????0 -

Haven't some companies recently been done for doing this. Advertising special deals that they can't or won't fulfil.0 -
