Forced Under Duress To Cancel Warranty In Order To Claim My [Still Faulty] PC Back!

  • The item is under warranty. If the purchaser sells the item they cannot testify that the item has been treated correctly.

FWIW, I was under the impression opening the case on PC's and fiddling with it would invalidate the warranty anyway.

As long as the processor and memory are OK you will just have to buy a new motherboard. Tough luck about the £38.

Nope, other faulty parts include the GPU. Which will run me another £80 to replace.

Nope. Things like RAM, GPU and HDD's are widely accepted by pretty much all companies (including Dell) to not void the warranty as these are parts that are easily changable by the end user.

You are not their customer...they owe you nothing.

Your not really helping, are you?

I have just reread your post and you do have a very valid point. Sorry I have no better advice especially since they have your PC as well and appear to be holding it to ransom.

What, because he's telling you the painful truth and something you don't want to hear!

No, becuase his not helping. It's that simple. There's ways around everything, and his making it sound like it was my fault this happened, when infact, it is an obvious cok-up by Dino PC, and I'm here to seek advice to see where I stand.

What do you expect them to do for you? You are not a customer of theirs, you have bought nothing from them, therefore they have no obligation to you.
  • Well to summarise then. You're consumer rights have not been violated, you were not the consumer. This has been pointed out as it is not helpful and there are ways around it. The only way around it is to butter them up real good and hope they do it out of the goodness of their heart.

Taking them to court and saying you did not buy the item would get you nowhere. This has to be settled between you and them and its has to be settled as a goodwill issue or you sourcing the parts elsewhere.
