Oh Lamewolf, thank you so much.

I have had a read, had a cry and can see how it applies to my depression to some degree, of course its only a mental illness and not as physical as lupus so please don't misunderstand me. Though it really struck a chord.

It was written by someone who, like myself, has lupus, but the principle applies to many, many illnesses/situations.:o

thats an amazing analogy , it does make you see chronic illness in a different light
  • Hi all,

Hope you're all well and those who's kids have gone back to/started at school have enjoyed the peace and quiet! :D

1 working day down and only 2 to go as i'm on a course tomorrow and Wednesday which will be a welcome break from the petty office politics that seem to be taking over atm!

Went to the gym last night and after 45 mins cardio i did 80 lengths of the pool and obviously worked some muscles harder then i usual do as my b*tt is killing me today :o but i've walked the dog twice and will get onto the wii fit in a bit!

Have finished off another cross stitch Christmas card so only 4 of the 24 left to do and then i'm going to attempt to learn to knit and crochet AGAIN, hopefully this time of my mum showing me will actually sink in! I have 4 nephews all under 6 so would love to crochet or knit some christmassy bits for them!

Lots of love, ((hugs)) and spoons where needed x

Hope you've cheered up Mrs MH - I have days like that too.
Great to hear from you Ladygrim - hope your phone calls didn't upset you.
Redruby - when do we ever learn? Everything is fixable though, you were very brave to try to fix the bed together yourself. Sounds like your DD has done a bit of research and knows what she wants to do and how she wants to do it, good luck to her.
JackieG - my children went to private school even though it was boarding so not quite the same thing. Apart from the smaller classes, more opportunities, etc, also think of the extra expense of uniforms, the opportunities (holidays, etc) cost extra, sports kit, travel and that your children's new friends may live further away so carrying on with clubs, etc locally is still important so they don't become isolated. All that said it would be a great opportunity for them but don't overstretch yourselves financially so that you can't afford to do what you like to do as a family.

Work today, came home and made two batches of millies and one of twinks, had salmon and veg for tea - I am envious of your home grown food, I have had the grand total of 2 courgettes this year - the rabbits ate everything else! No washing today, not enough to make a load.

    Take care all. XX

    Hi all,

Greetings from a very wet Emerald Isle...it has been bucketting down for the last four or five hours now and there are floods all over the place.....hope it stops before I have to take DS2 to the airport in the morning...dog and cat refusing to go out, would be nice if they could get out for a while before dark....that said have had the lights on for ages and the heat, OH really feels the cold so can't let the old so-and-so freeze to death, can I?

Ruby....so sorry for you and the mess you think you made this morning...it will be grand in the long run, you need to slow down a bit. Tell the nosyparkers who upset DD to keep their advice to themselves if it has to be negative! Have no idea how the UK education system works so can't comment beyond saying that there are different strokes for different folks...would be a sad world if everyone operated the same system.

PP...nice to see you, sorry that you are still not great and that OH's problem hasn't gone away.

Ladygrim....nice to see you too, any day that you are feeling good is a bonus one.

MrsMH....hope that you feel better to-morrow.

Csarina....good on you letting OH look after himself....I go to all appointments with OH and the result is that he can now do none of these things for himself....or claims he can't, the spoilt ***

Felt so sad for one little lad at the funeral this morning, a grandson of about 8 who just stood at the graveside and sobbed his little heart out, the deceased had a large family and I'm not sure how many grandchildren so it was a very weepy occasion.

Dinner to-night was bacon ribs with various vegetables, haven't had that for years and it was a nice change, toffee cake from the cake sale last week for pudding, very nice...must then remember to take my steroids, had an improvement on Saturday but nothing since still very limited in movement, DD3 is going to work out a gentle exercise programme for me ( that's her second talent) to help rebuild the lost muscle tissue.

Hugs to all in need or want of one, welcome to all newbies

LW - thanks for that link - very thought provoking and something I'd never considered before.

MrsMH - Have a hug yourself. Hope you feel better tomorrow xx

Thanks everyone :o, OH has assesed the damage, and its really not as bad as I thought, there are 4 marks on the paper, but one will be covered by the bedside table and lamp, we are going to get a mirror at the weekend to cover the others, and OH can fix the skirting so that it does not show at all :T, so all is not lost :D

Hope all of those whose kids went back to school today has good days!

It's miserable here, absolutely bucketed it down all day, plus it's windy :(. I was meant to take my work kids raft building today but we had to cancel due to the weather, which totally messed up my day as I had nothing else for them to do. Sent them home at lunch in the end. Then went back to my normal office to do some paperwork.

My friend is being discharged from hospital tomorrow :jSpoke to him earlier and he sounded very upbeat. I shall go visit him later in week :D.

I went to the gym after work, really enjoyed myself *insert confused smiley* :rotfl:

I'm going to do some work on my assignments for work. I need to get 2 more done before I start uni properly in 2 weeks otherwise I'll be swamped!

    Have a good day all
