Won't it cost you far more to keep her indefinitely than the £84 the PSDA want?

Especially as you don't feel her to be safe around your children.

I'm not getting at you for wanting to rehome the dog & I totally undersstand your children come first. But have the guts to be honest. Don't say you only want the best for her & then say I'm not spending another £84 as I've already spend enough or even the dog warden/council won't take her!
Stop beating around the bush & be honest.

But having the op will not mean places will take her!!!!! She would need some kind of miracle breed reassignment for people to even think about having her.

No, it won't cost more. If she had the £84 op i'd still be in the position of being stuck with her because she has staff in her and thats the reason i've been given by everyone I contact. Op or not at the end of the day i'd be in the same position. And £84 might not be much to you but that will feed my family for 3/4 weeks, and they come first. I have spent enough on her, she's not even my flippin dog! I think i've done more than my fair share for her considering this was supposed to be a temporary solution for a friend lasting only a few weeks.

I contacted the dog warden for info on rehoming centres in the local area, nothing more sinister. I wasn't aware they put dogs down.

I have been honest! I want whats best for her, I won't have her put to sleep, I won't see her come to any harm or put her in danger by flogging her in the paper, but she has to go! Whether thats to a rescue centre or a person found through the right avenues (ie not the paper where anybody could see it).

FC - PrincessPlaty is right about the other dogs. I know she was with 3 other staffs and was told she's ok with other dogs (by friend who's left me in this mess, so how true it is I don't know). She's ok on her lead when I take her for walks. I don't know what she'd be like if she was sharing a home/owner with another dog/dogs though because to be honest I've not witnessed her in that situation personally so wouldn't like to take my friends word for it :(

Thanks everyone else for the links and advice, they're appreciated. I guess i'll start ringing around again tomorrow, for the 5th week running:( Someone must want her, she is a lovely puppy. I'd give her a home if she wasn't too big, boisterous and lively for my family:(

xoxo - its not because she is part staffie - its just the rescues are overwhelmed at the moment. If you find one that has a place, that cross will not be such a problem.

Do you live in an inner city or disadvantaged area? If so, you may be able to get free neutering.

    Have you contacted prodogs direct?

Your posts from the start implied the reason they wouldn't take her was because she needed an op, you said it time & time again.

You didn't say the op was £84 you said the PDSA wanted £84 donation to take her.

I'm looking for ideas/help with rehoming a 10 month old staff cross rhodesian ridgeback. I've tried everything I can think of but rescues won't take her because she has staff in her. She also needs medically spaying due to vaginal prolapse.
Thank you so much for your reply. Unfortunately i've tried them all apart from Battersea who would put her down as she needs the op :( I don't want her to be put down or for any harm to come to her, that why i'm trying to do this properly instead of just sticking her in a paper or something
Thank you hethmar i'll try them. I have looked in to getting her the op but i've been unable to get any help so far.
Yes I was told Battersea would put her down due to her needing an op:(

All the above implied the op was the problem
The PDSA want an £84 contribution for the op, which I can't afford. If she was in pain of course I wouldn't hesitate but at the moment whilst she's ok then I can't pay it.

I thought you meant the PDSA want a £84 contribution to take her, now I see you mean they want a donation off you for the op.

If the op isn't the problem with her getting into a charity rescue or breed rescue centre can I ask why on earth you have mentioned it time & time again???

So whether she's rehomed or not she is needing a medical op which would require a donation of £84 & you say you can't afford?

Maybe you need to put her to sleep if you can't get a rescue or rehoming centre to take her. You can't keep an animal in limbo that needs an operation.

I said in my first post that it's because she's part staff!

I've repeated 4 times in the thread and my friend had also said once that the reason i've been told over and over again is that she has staff in her.

I said battersea would put her down because she needs an op, again what i've been told! I've not said places won't take her because she needs an op, I never get that far! Places turn me away as soon as they're told she's part staff. The reason it's been mentioned time and time again is that people keep bringing it up when the op isn't the issue at all. The issue is that she's part staff. If you read the posts you've quoted they're all about Battersea and not sending her to them because she would be put down.

PDSA told me I would need to make a contribution of £84 for the op, so to me it will cost £84. I'd rather use the £84 so my children can eat than on a dog thats not mine. She's not suffering at the moment. If she was i'd never have started this thread because I wouldn't keep a dog suffering needlessly.

Thanks :) I hope I can find her a place :( The reason i'm given is because she's part staff but I guess it could just be they're overwhelmed and it's an easy way to get me off the phone:o:(

I expect she would still be put down because she would be difficult to rehome due to how boisterous she is and not being suitable for families:(
