Best phones around at the minute?
I can upgrade from Thursday, and am trying to work out what phone I would like before Orange and Phones 4 U start ringing and trying to get me to accept some rubbish mobile.
Phones 4 U were trying to tempt me with the Blackberry Curve, am I right in thinking this is pretty old now and there is a new one coming out soon?
At the minute I've got a Nokia 5800 and after a few problems would like to get away from Nokia.
What mobiles should I be looking at? I really don't want to end up with a phone and realise it is completely out of date.
Heard a lot about the HTC Desire, any others I should make a note of?
I really aren't up on phones at all, the only time I take any notice is when it is upgrade time...
Thanks

If you're looking at a smartphone then make sure your new tariff includes "data" when you upgrade.
The best smartphones on the market at the mo are (in no particular order)
HTC Desire
Apple iPhone 4
Samsung GalaxyIn the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
hi i also have the nokia 5800 and it awful!! Im due for a new phone in the new year- i think apple i phones are the way to go but obviously depends if you can get a good package x0

Thanks... stupid technophobe question coming up... is data just internet? I am making sure I have internet included in my package this time anyway if it is.
I do like the idea of an Iphone but was put off by the problems they were having with them a few weeks back? Have these been completely sorted?
Anyone know anything about this new Blackberry or have I completely imagined it0 -
Be careful with the i phone,an issue not widely reported, but it is when googled. An issue of contacts being lost whilst trying to back up.
A friend of mine came to the end of his contract and found the only way to back up his contacts was to sync them with i tunes.
He thought they had backed up,but in reality he lost the lot.
i would not recommend the iphone.
HTC uses Android a far better operating system many of the apps are free as well.never put off buying a bargain today,it may be gone tomorrow0 -
I've had a HTC Desire since launch and I've been extremely happy with it.0

Thanks, totally put off the IPhone now, and looking like a Blackberry is out too after some of the stuff I read last night... I thought they were pretty reliable!
Looking like the HTC Desire or Samsung Galaxy... both look pretty similar to me?0 -
I was given a Blackberry Curve and it's not that great it doesn't even have 3G! It was alright for being free though! I really want a HTC Desire or Wildfire which is like the Desire but cheaper because of the screen/graphics display but still really good. Much better than the Nokia. I would recommend Android phones.. a mate has one and it's really great! I'm envious.. I want a new phone but can't afford it at the mo!
Another friend's bf has the Galaxy S and says it's brilliant as well. Iphone looks really good but has a few probs and is a lot of money. HTC phones do all the same stuff as the iphone can do but is much more affordable.0 -
There are new phones apparently around the corner from HTC. Personally if you like the Desire, go for it, it is still a good phone and personally in the mobile world no matter when you buy a phone something else is just around the corner. In the 4/5months I've had the Desire, there has been the iPhone 4 and the Galaxy S!
Android is a really good operating system and with Froyo update to the latest version I'm very happy with it. The problem I had with the iPhone is it was just a bit expensive compared to the Desire.0 -
All the reviews list in varying order the top 3 as . IPhone 4 HTC Desire Samsung Galaxy S .
At this level it is user choice as none are better than the other each having plus points or not .
HTC and Samsung lots of useful free apps on the Android Market .New Update to the OS also to roll out soon .

Samsung Galaxy S0 -
