Izzy has perked up loads now after a nap in the car while we took DH to work.

Sir M, don't beat yourself up over it, sometimes you just have to do what it takes to get some sleep.

KK (and anyone else really) - have been thinking a bit more about the share of housework/childcare round here. Our situation at the mo is that I'm working part time (3 days), and poor old DH is working full time at his daytime job, and also p/t at an off licence. Obviously this means I'm happy to do more than half the housework/childcare because I am here more, but he still has to do his "fair share" I would count his fair share as doing approx half of what needs doing while he is at home. I don't know if that would be a helpful way to explain it to him. That him doing a fair share now is definitely a lot less than the 50% you were expecting when he wasn't working, but it is still definitely not 0% either!

Doing all that work there are days when he is so nackered that I don't ask him to do any housework, but then he will still be having a cuddle on the sofa with Izzy, so at least I can get on with other things iyswim. I try and get him to do a bit extra when I can get away with it too - ie last night he came home in a helpful mood, so I did a few "while you are up and doing stuff can you grab X so we can do Y", so we got a few extra bits done on top of the standard washing up/cooking/hanging the washing out evening tasks. Then when he is in a proper grump I can let things slide a bit ;)

Not that any of that makes me any less annoyed with DH when he is being a KH mind you ;)

Oh wow. I would have loved to full time EC with my girls but had to do the half way of doing it at home but not when out and about. With DD1 she never had a nappy at home just when out and about, but I'm finding I don't have time with DD2 to have her out of her nappy all the time at home but she still has a lot of nappy free time.

DD1 used the potty (with my help :D) from 4 months, just to save the floor, but came out of nappies at 19 months, so think it helped speed up potty training. We have laminate floor though, so she basically 'trained' herself, as when she wee'd she realised pretty quick that it would make it really slippery and she would fall, so she would wander over to the back door mat and go on there, so we just put the potty there :D
The bit in bold made me LOL!

I actually found she did better when we were out than when we were at home. Except for one person's house where you could pretty much guarantee she would poo in the nappy and not let me know.

Thanks for the info about fleece liners. I've used up my annual trip to Ikea (very jealous of you peeps that live near one, though my wallet is happy ;)) But they sell them in the poundshop.

Som, I have no experience of formula, but I know Aptamil is 'unofficially' recommended by a lot of midwives, don't know why, but OHs neice is studying midwifery.

Susan, EC looks like a really interesting thing. Would you say it was a difficult thing to do? There doesn't seem to be much 'routine' as it were to Sophie's toileting, other than her morning stretch and pump session.

OH sort of gets how much work a baby is - like if I dare go for a bath and she decides to wake up and scream hysterically like the other night, but other times he's totally off the mark. It's getting easier to do stuff now, but at the same time not, because she's getting to really enjoy interacting and playing, so I'd much rather be stimulating her than folding laundry. It's all swings and roundabouts with us really, although OH is messier.

    GAH! I am FUMING.

Finally heard back from this job I've been waiting on. The reason it's taken so long is apparently they were literally about to offer me the job when an internal applicant stepped forward. So now they're "legally obliged" to interview that person and won't know who gets the job until probably after the weekend (that interview is today).:mad: And stupid poxy internal candidates are always better and favoured, and now I'm scared I won't get it.

(personally, I don't understand how this is possible, as clearly since the internal person missed the application deadline they don't have any sort of right to be interviewed? But is prolly just company being nice to its employees. BUT I DON'T LIKE IT ONE BIT.)

Aless, I'm :mad::mad: on your behalf. That seems very much out of order.

CAFC, I guess as long as Landen's staying hydrated, it is fairly normal for us as adults to go off our food a bit when we're poorly. It might be harder for him to suck as well if he's bunged up. Hope you all feel better soon.

Michelle, Ayana just looks so cheeky as she plots her next move. Very cute indeed!
