Weezl, I'd be inclined to pick a clean disabled loo and change them on the floor. Bit contraversial but needs must.
Or can you change them in the buggy if it lies flat? Take a towel out with you to protect the buggy and just find a quiet spot.
Feeding, can you give Fergie some finger foods while you feed Kester? Or if he still has a high chair, some crayons and paper.0 -
Tia- just the person. I really want to make myself a tutu to wear or Halloween, but what could I dress up as, that involves a tutu?I am a but tubby, so not exactly ballerina material!I've been through that will all three of mine and it still doesn't get any easier

Look on the bright side - at least he is well behaved in public so you'll look like a fabby Mam even if you feel like crap at home
Sorry to hear the news about Susan. Thinking of her xx
Bemused at vajazzle and can't see the attraction in sticking crystals on it. I can just imagine the "ooooh Mammy, why is your bummy all sparkly?" when I have a wee :rotfl:
That has just reminded of me of something Charlotte said the other day. She was naked before her shower and she was pointing to body parts and telling James what they were. She pointed to her foof and said "this bits called bummy." He said "and what do you call your back bum?" and she said "Geoffrey" ??? :rotfl:
Stil nervous but trying to keep calm my mind. Exam is from 2.30pm-5.30pm so I'll head off in half an hour or so to make sure I get there in good time. It's the final exam for my degree.
:rotfl::rotfl: at Charlotte.
The very best of luck for this afternoon. The anticipation is the worst bit- I'm sure you will be fine. She is nuts! After saying about being double figures and triple figures she was asking if I think i'll ever be 100! I said I might, and she'd be looking after me, but she told me she's putting me in a home with Nanny & Grandad when i'm 50!
To be fair to L, I still threaten my Mum with that all the time (although not when she's 50- I'll let her go till maybe 65 or so).:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

hi

Please can I ask for some advice from Mel, Caz, SB and anyone with a youngish toddler when baby 2 is little?
Basically now that kessie is ravenously on solids I'm struggling with ordering our day so both are ok and happy.
What sort of things did you occupy toddler with whilst giving baby solids? ATM I need to help kess with his eating so this needs my hands.
Also, how did you go out with the two of them? Like double buggy plus baby plus toddler plus me doesn't fit in the change facility anywhere I can think of locally (blush) so i feel I can't go out for more than about 45 mins. (poos are now vvv regular since fergs laxatives) So any tips around that would be welcome
Also please can anyone remind me at what point you know to go up a shoe size?
My thoughts are also with lovely susan.
And hugs to anyone else who needs one
could you all sit at the table/highchair and give fergie some drawing/colouring to do? or playdough to play with? that way he feels involved and with you, but you have your hands free?
the only place near us is John Lewis. Disabled loo would also be my suggestion if there is one and no-one else is in desperate need of using it.
re: shoes, best way is to get them measured, but I notice that A's feet get a littel wider before they get longer (like the rest of her) IYKWIM. Otherwise another indicator is when they start to trip over their feet a little, but aren't tired. HTH I think if you look on Startrite's website they show you how to measure your childrens feet yourself/at home? that could help you?
I'm procrastinating. I'm writing an inportant document but can't quite get my head round it. In other news, did I mention that I've been elected to help run our toddler group on a thursday
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this responser.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!

EA, get a cheap large rug and don't wash under it. Seriusly the only way to stop them slipping! lol If you lived closed I'd give you mine. I'm done with it now.
That wont be long then, this house is a dust spot.
Lily has now started including her tongue in kisses, or she just licks us. Its quite odd, but very cute
She also uses her tongue to stand up, she'll pull herself up on the sofa and on the way up she will lick the sofa. Dont know why :rotfl:0 -

Its meant to be leather but its more fabric that looks like leather.
She also licks her daddys shoes, she hides away to do it. She doesn't care what goes in her mouth, im always holding her down to get stuff out of her mouth :rotfl:0 -
Yes mum came and got Chris then felt incredibly guilty that Edgar wanted to go too but couldn't because she didn't have his carseat and was on her own - she isn't really up to taking both boys without dad to help (incidentaly dad was out searching for the dog, he took him on a shoot and Patch got lost, took over 2hrs to find him!)got-it-spend-it wrote: »<snip>
Glad your feeling better Sami. Did you get your mum to come and help with the boys in the end? I am very proud of my lovely H being Lactivist baby of the month
.
I wish I had a photo of Ed in his lactavist top but I don't think I got any, might put it on a teddy and take a pic of them together, or finally buy him another
weezl I know my situ is a bit different but I'll answer in case its of use
What sort of things did you occupy toddler with whilst giving baby solids? The boys eat together and then Chris plays/watches TV while Ed finishes.
We eat in the lounge so its a safe to play area, if we were in the kitchen I'd probably put toddler to taske by letting them fill/empty the washer
Also, how did you go out with the two of them? Do you have a boots/mothercare/debenhams? they have the biggest change facilities here, usually a family room with toilet, BF area and changing all in one large room, other wise I'd do as Tia says and change in the pram, are you at all familiar with changes on the lap? I find it worked well at Ferg's age, I put a towel or disposable change mat on my lap
Also please can anyone remind me at what point you know to go up a shoe size?
I just get the boys check regularly at clarks and buy when they've gone up but startrite have some very good videos of how to check the fit of shoes here http://www.startriteshoes.com/fitting/fitting-videos0 -

Morning All!
Michelle - I have the top of the range graco contor electra travel cot and have used the bottom of the range one that is often in the asda baby event, the cheap one felt very wobbly and the base hard and i wouldn't recommend for frequent use. I have had a good look at the mid range £30-£50 ones before and they feel much more like my fancy one (i think the only reason mine was more expensive is for the extras like bassinet level and it has music and a light)
and just FYI I only have the top one because MIL got it and she likes to spend lots
Thanks GISI and SB, I was planning on def getting a more expensive one as its for sleeping in and I want her to be supported properly.
PMSL!She also says she doesn't want to be double figures, because before you know it, she'll be triple figures. :eek:go Anya! :T
My DD's name is Ayana.
Second time today! Imagine what its going to be like when she goes to school!
Thanks for voting so far. Currently in 22nd place but it has only been an hour.
Right, back later, A is wanting to have her 1st nap of the day, im going to join her!
First baby born 10/06/10:heartpuls 6lb 10z:heartpulsI love my little family0 -
GISI, I dunno?? You could make a tutu style cloak. Or a tutu dress. You make your strips longer, tie the ribbon round just above your boobs and use a nice wide bit of ribbon as a cinch belt (course you will need something under it or it'll be a bit kinky). Or a burlesque skirt. Stitch the tutu around the hips of an A line skirt. Or if you have a large floofy skirt, tutu underneath, (even just a small section of tutu) and hitch up the skirt revealing the tutu underskirt. Or just the back section of tutu made really fluffy.
I am obsessed... Tonight I need to study and do some plastering and not sit playing with tutus.
Michelle, I did read it as Ayana but typed it wrong. How do you say it? A (for air) ana?
I picked Aisha for Amber but DH didn't like it
(so he picked Amber which I don't like! lol) 0
