  • I used to be ok, had a really[strike] common [/strike] popular surname to go with my [strike] common [/strike] popular first name, now it's a name I'd never even heard until I met my DH, and although it's actually pretty easy to spell - spell it exactly as you say it - people always ask.

I just worked out our combined debts _pale_

    I need to do a SOA...procrastinating :o

    Hi all :)

I get fed up of having to spell out my name. It's double barrelled and sometimes confusing if you're telling someone over the phone. Likewise with our street name, and the postcode. Don't know why I always say 's for sugar' though - sugar doesn't even have an 's' sound!

I'm doing mine now. Not very enjoyable.

If I were you I'd wait until hubby has that job, then you'll be looking at double the income you have now and it'll look loads better!!! But then I do tend to put things off like that :o

I just have to tell you all that my DH has been very good today.

He did last nights dishes and cleaned the kitchen. Then he did tonights dinner dishes and cleaned the kitchen again. Then he got the boys ready for bed. Then he took the boys to bed. Then he mopped the floor. And I didn't even have to throw a strop or nothing. :D

Arnie - you'll be pleased to know I ordered one of the duvets you linked to earlier, the plain pink one from Mothercare, went into store so free delivery and my discount made it only £6.80 so very MSE :D

Am mucho impressed, T wouldnt stay asleep and kept waking after about 20/30 min and really crying so I gave her some baby nuerofen and layed with her a bit more and she was desperatley trying to settle. Anyhoo I had stuff that needed doing for tomorrow so aked OH to lay with her for a while, he did and she was still a lil restless and it took a little while be he got her off and she is sparko in her own cot now. This is a break through and means after a feed he can stay with her for a while and give me a lil mor free time. Now wonder if he'll make me a hot choc when he gets back from walking the dog (his taste sooooo much better than mine :D)

Yep - I have only been on here for 4 years and I still haven't managed to do a proper SOA :o

I am thinking maybe if we can sort out what we owe and where then we can apply our newly joint funds appropriately to do some sensible paying off before we start saving for our dream house...

....praying that we win the lottery doesn't seem to be getting us far...

  • No, me either :( Sometimes it feels as though that's the only way I'll manage it though. I bought a house (on my own) 8 years ago, yep, that's right, just before they went up. But then I met a guy, moved in with him, sold my house and we bought another together. I left him, got a little cash back but that didn't last 2 minutes :o If I'd have kept my house it's worth approx double what I paid for it. Just now it looks as though we won't ever be able to buy one, especially if I decide to do cakes full time so we'd both be self employed :(

Is there enough money in the cakes? (if you don't mind me asking?) My SIL is very talented but she says it takes too much time and effort to do 'as a job'

Although I don't think she has explored the right markets...people like me who don't have time or a talented SIL are willing to pay for a decent cake which is personal...

No point worrying about the past though hun...I had to buy my ex out of my last house and it screwed me up for a while...and I would be better off financially if I didn't but hey ho - if I hadn't been there, done that and got the t-shirt then I wouldn't be the person I am now and I wouldn't have my beautiful son - I would rather be happy and skint than rich and unhappy
