Susan, I wish I hadn't had make up done for my wedding. My mother insisted (because she wanted hers done but couldn't justify it if I didn't) and although the trial makeup was gorgeous and light the woman spackled it on on the day and I looked like Lily Savage
Worse, my poor mother also hated hers so it was a complete waste of time. Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Susan A friend of mine who never ever wore make-up, bowed to pressure from others and got her make-up done for her wedding. She now hates the wedding pics because it just doesn't look like her!
for your friend.

But I'm sure you don't look like Lily Savage on the photos on FB.
I was very lucky as my mum just told me to do what I wanted and let her know how much it cost. My parents had got married without her parents there because they wanted them to have a big wedding and they just wanted a small one so they had a small one and told them afterwards.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Morning everyone.
SM - I'm pleased to hear that you ex-area manager is helping, but I hope today goes ok.
Becles - really pleased to hear that the other mum is proving to be ok about the incident.
3 - I've seen that programme and there are some real spoilt brats on there. When I've seen it, I spend the whole show going 'O. M. G.'
SS - Congratulations to Molly for her steps.
Sorry if I'm being thick, but what's the wooden spoon trick?
Susan - my wedding and 'honeymoon' (otherwise known as weekend away to get married!) and everything was well under £500 - we just went to Gretna Green, had a lovely weekend in a caravan. After getting married, Dan made us all spag bol, and we showed Amelie how to do bowling! Not for everyone, I know, but it wuited us. I really can't imagine spending that sort of money on any occasion - I think I'm just tight! However, we have said that when we move, I think we're probably going to hire a hall and have a cheesy disco as a joint 'house warming' and belated wedding reception, as I think a number of our relatives were disappointed that we didn't do anything for the family.
Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

Not authentic, but I've made hummous with chickpeas, lemon juice, olive oil and a couple of spoons of fromage frais to make it nice and creamy. I also stir in some pesto for Henry (although pesto does have some salt in it).
Also Henry really likes falafel, so you could use some of the chickpeas on that if T would eat it? It's a good finger food.
Thanks gisi although is it really awful I dont know what falafel is? On your charm braclet Q I dont have a pandora but know I can fit other makes of charms on mine ands there are lots of in expensive ones on Amazon.
Eeek at 3.5k on a prom!!! I would spend as little as poss if/when we get married and I'd be with you Susan on the lack of makeup.Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

The pictures were lovely, Susan, and I think what happened is that she gave me photoshoot type makeup so I'd look nice on the pictures. But what I wanted was to look nice on the *day* IYSWIM.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Falafel recipe here- http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/falafel_80242, although personally I bake them rather than fry.
Your FB wedding pics are lovely, SS.
I did my own make-up for my wedding as I was worried I wouldn't be happy with anyone else doing it, and I think I was right to since I really disliked the make-up that was done for me when I was a bridesmaid
. The make-up lady assumed that because I have very dark hair I am dark and need strong colours, I am actually very fair skinned and blue eyed so I don't look good with dark make-up . :DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator

Som, just make normal hummus and don't add salt? It might taste a bit odd, so add extra lemon juice and cumin if you want to be able to eat it, too. You've just made me feel guilty, as I've been meaning to make hummus for weeks, but I keep forgetting to soak my chickpeas

Really knackering though....:p But them being here has now given me perfect idea for my dads xmas present. I'd got a few mags recently (DH wanted to treat me) and they had been flicking through them and my dad loves food, so im thinking a subscription to the foodie one i had.... as im sure most women know, men of a certain age dont really need owt or ever want anything and it drives me insane so im sadly proud of myself for my good thought.... :TDoes anyone know where I can find rubber ducks which don't have a hole in them?
I have no idea, but perhaps the same person who knows about your rubber ducks knows where I can get scrabble tiles......:TWealth is not measured by currency0
