Husband is now claiming food poisoning from dinner, which we both ate and I have suffered no ill effects from. I am a sympathy puker so left him to it and he is now sleeping peacefully so I am heading in that direction too. Have another O'fest party tomorrow but I'm a bit unsure about going now, if I hadn't spent €45 on my reservation/beer/meal tickets I'd stay home and look after my little family but ... ehh.

Kindof, Clarks sizes are for clarks shoes. Stick to shops that measure. Britano are good but only during the week I found. If you go in at the weekend nobody knows how to measure feet. Luckily, I used to work at clarks and it's not that hard...

We went to Brantano and V was measured as a 4 1/2, they didn't have any in stock and the 5's were like big clown shoes.

We went next door to Clarks and she measured 5 1/2 F. She came out with one and it was huge! So she tried a 5 which was perfect.

So, I think when they're tiny, you need to buy from where you can get measured/try on.

L has very cute Next upsy-daisy ugg boots in a 5 which fit nice though.

MIL is constantly buying cheap primark, plastic, various coloured shoes which will sit in a box in the corner until I can say they're too small and they're going on ebay.

Yes Searchie It's just not the same without the snoring and farting in the background.

I just wanted to say that whilst a carer is a stranger to start with they very soon become as close as any member of the family. When I trusted my CM with my 8 month old son I was giving over to her the care of the most precious thing in the world to me - and she appreciated that. For Benjamin his CM has been a big part of his short life so for him she is family...

...Benjamin knows and loves and trusts his CM more than he does my own mother (who he likes, but doesn't know in the same way).

I guess what I am trying to say is the perception of our children (in terms of who is and who isn't 'a stranger') is wildly different from ours.

LOL - we are still doing this! I married my husband after just over 7 months...and I essentially married a stranger! It has worked out okay for us, we are very happy now, nearly 5 years on, but there was a time when if we hadn't got married we might not have stuck it out!!

Listen to Krystal - the best bit of advice she ever gave me was to buy an old lady sweeper - I LOVE mine!!

Thanks tia I think I will stick to clarks, Ive not heard of the other shop you mentioned

Kindof - I take Katie to an independant shoe shop that stocks more than just Clarks. I had her feet checked today she's an 8G.

You can go to other shops and get the size but the fit still needs to be checked, as certain styles might not be suitable because of the shape of foot etc.

Yeah I will stick with going into shops and trying them on cos I guess styles are different as well

She said he was between a 2 and a 2 and a half, well he is too big for a 2 so that was a def no no so he has growth room in the ones he has, he wont be wearing them much cos I dont have him in shoes or socks at home, it was mainly for when we are taking him for a walk in the back pack carrier cos he needs something on his feet (whereas in pram he has socks on and his footmuff and booties sometimes)

Hope you have a good time tomorrow Sugar, sure you will once you get there

I am planning October's meals. I normally do a weeks' worth but doing the whole month as I am trying to implement a budget. Even if we don't stay within it this month we should at least be a bit more aware of what we are spending. Plus we have tons in the cupboards and freezer that we can use up and so have a cheap month.

Think I missed what was up with work MDW but hope you can sort it

The first think V (and J & L) do when they come in is take shoes and socks off - just like me.

Although V got herself into a right tangle the other day, she was wearing tights and shorts and couldn't figure out why when she was pulling at the toes of the tights they weren't coming off.
