Thanks everyone, I know you're all absolutely right and have agreed to a talk at some point today. Aless, I'm a bit hair-trigger about not being respected because my father is very much a chauvinist horror and I grew up being constantly laughed at, but often it seems that what Husband says and what he does are at complete opposites (I have so much respect for you/embarrassing me in the street) and when I'm tired it gets harder to remember the good bits. And there are loads of good bits.
I hope I didn't upset you by talking about respect then, I was just calling it like I saw it from afar. He should not make fun of your shortcomings, he should not demean the work it takes to look after Molly. It's one thing making a light joke occasionally out of a slightly embarrassing situation (and laughing together), but you've mentioned similar situations many times.
I know there's good times - we ALL have good times, and since it's the nature of the board to come on and moan, it does look lopsided. Which is why I didn't say Z is a beast or something, but merely that it sounds like you guys need to have a serious chat. Good luck!
On a lighter note, today's project is eBay 9-12 trouser bundles - we are slowly dwindling down to only 2 pairs fitting!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!

SS i have been learing at conselling to look at things differntly, i have had to write my fears and anxieties down and she went through them with me. It really did shock me the way i was thinking and giving in to everything trying to be supermum, the one thing that really did hit me and i havent been able to get out of my head was that i wrote i didnt think i was a good enough wife. Her immediate response was is he a good enough husband, it really did make me stop and think. I feel i have come on so much seeing her in the past few weeks and can stop myself when my mind goes into overdrive, making things clear esp when your not happy is hard but in the long run your life will be easier and being able to say it instead of boiling will make you feel a whole lot better.
TIA I would pay half the petrol!
Where is Mel? i havent seen her in ages and miss herWhat's for you won't go past you0 -

Eep, I multiquoted this aaages ago and haven't quote-posted since
Thanks SJhe is quite interested, he refers often now to "baby sister in mama's tummy", or once to "baby sister in mama's butt" :rotfl:
Not sure how well he gets the fact that there will be a full-time baby here though.
We've virtually settled on a name but I think it's a secret cuz we are afraid of peer pressureDoes anyone else find the baddies on the Numberjacks a bit scarey? Especially the floating head one with orange bubble beard and green glasses.
ETA: He's The Puzzler, and I just won 27 SB's by searching for him. :T
We love the Numberjacks herethey definitely helped E with number recognition from early, and he is a big fan of the villains and their theme-tunes. He especially likes the puzzler, but the Shape-japer concerns him most - he will often come and leap in my lap when she appears, and he spent an afternoon once claiming the "Shape-japer in de bucket!!" etc in the garden, seeing her everywhere! Doesn't seem to cause him any real trauma though.
Day 2 of FIl staying - OH over the moon and had a much easier day yesterday than normal which is great. E loves the attention but is just a little bit scared of him - keeps wanting him to visit him in the spare room but only if I am holding his hand and so on.
I am desperately trying to remain unruffled and not feel invaded and not be bugged... nothing actual has happened yet bar tiny things like him wanting to discuss how to repair the kitchen cupboard and where I could borrow tools from at 7.15 this morning.
The crunch time will come on Monday when his friend (who OH knows but I have never met) comes and stays too... friend is here for 10 nights and they are hopefully going to Ireland for 3 of those but will be here for the rest. There will be no room and my cooking for 5 not 3 - with tiny fridge - will become a hassle. And I will have nowhere to retreat to.
And all my efforts of ordering new bed (partly cuz current one is so creaky and therefore embarrassing with other people in the house), and a futon for the spare room, are wasted by sucky Homebase not delivering til next Friday regardless of what I offer themso I have had to buy another air mattress.
Oh I have reminded myself of all my frustrations now! And I must spend at least 3 or 4 hours this weekend on a case study follow-up to the interview I had on Friday... and it will be a challenge to get peace and quiet to do that... wah.
SS, hope your talk goes well. Your OH is not stupid and he loves you and if you are clear and explicit to him I am sure he will respond? Thinking of you.0 -
I posted about Numberjacks on my FB only this week, 3. The whole thing freaks me out a bit. Bruno is a big fan though!workinmummy wrote: »No Numberjacks on here, just more flipping golf. Thats 2 days on the run when OH has bounced up no problem to watch the stupid thing. Every other day mornings go along to a soundtrack of him grunting, moaning, sighing and mutterings of how tired he is.
But Alex slept 7 til 7 :T
Need to move my backside and get ready for joes swimming lesson. I think i'll wear my new boots.

Do you have a good car boot sale near you? Much more :money: for the trousers. Most of Henry's 9-12 month stuff is car boot stuff, and most of it is Next, John Lewis, Mothercare stuff that I would never have bought new! Also may be worth looking up your nearest NCT Nearly New Sale as I know ours is in 2 weeks and they all tend to be around the same time, roughly.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

Bruno- having anyone stay for longer than a night or two is my worst nightmare so you have my sympathy. Could you not ask FIL to cook once or twice to take the pressure off you when you have been at work? Also could FIL take E out to the park or something this afternoon so you can work on your case study? I take it the interview went well?
Ooh, I'm off to pick up a bargain bundle of 12-18month clothes later today! Yippee for netmums :money:.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
