William is quite chunky and solid but the odd times I go to get him weighed they never really mention his weight and I know he is bigger than some LO's on here that are older than him. I know he will burn it off when he starts walking.... I cant help it if my boy eats loads!! :D

Arrgghh deciding on presents for boys is a nightmare when a) birthdays are so close to Christmas and b) Henry has loads that William can have so alot of things not needed !!!

Maz, I know where you are coming from in the I have 3 birthdays in the 5 days before Christmas plus one on Christmas Day itself.

I don't like combining the presents either, doesn't seem fair.

I've given up on the lines last time I checked Katie was between between 50 & 75 for weight and between 25 & 50 for height. Always has been though.

She goes through phases where she'll grow outwards then upwards.
Proud to be dealing with my debts

I haven't had Finn weighed since he was about 8 weeks old :o. He also hasn't had his 8 month development check - we moved right around then, but the old GP never contacted us about it and I haven't gotten around to phoning the new HVs to see what we need to do. I'm not worried, so I figure why bother?

SJ, your rant is totally spot-on though. Maybe you should stop going to the clinics? If you're happy with him, then what's the point?

TRouble is I know William wont really care as he has 'had' his first Christmas already and as I say he is playing with Henrys old toys (that is when Henry isnt!!!)

I like the look of the wooden truck from Ikea for him and I saw one of the bead puzzles in there.... picked up a box od Duplo lego, BTB game and an ELC lawnmower last night from Boots and managed to get £10 off some aftershave for OH (he doesnt use loads so bit of a bonus pressie for him for Christmas....

What worries me is that other mums who may not be so confident in knowing when their baby is ok will take everything the HV says to heart. What if the woman before me limits the milk she gave her daughter becasue she was so worried about the HV saying the baby was putting on too much weight?! I think it's just a really irresponsible way to go about things.

Molly's doctor told me to drop a feed because she was gaining too much weight - his idiot nurse had weighed her in a wet nappy rather than in the nudey buff, thereby accounting for the alarming increase in weight *rolleyes* If I hadn't been a [STRIKE]stroppy cow[/STRIKE] well informed or aware mummy I'd have been leaving my baby hungry on doctor's advice

The drain-fixing man is here. He's found a blockage about six feet down, and Husband is being a stroppy PITA. He woke me twice overnight coughing in my face, once so loud he also woke Molly. So I spent three and a half hours feeding her back to sleep, and every time she was almost there he'd make some noise and wake her again. Then she and I drifted off after he'd given up and got up, but he woke me getting back into bed and told me I'd have to stop waking him up  I am exhausted again and so very angry that he didn't just go to the damned sofa instead of keeping Molly and me awake by being inconsiderate.

MFD, Sophie now has a Sophie :D Coming tomorrow thanks to a free delivery trial membership (instantly cancelled, I already spend far too much money on books) I've also got one of those £6 voucher things too :j

CAFC, yay for returning rubbish pram - how's your search going?

MDW, it sounds like such a horrible situation you are in. Hopefully with the backing of your union, plus your other supporting information, you will be able to resolve it soon.

Beenie, hoping the phone call is good!

SS  at coughing hubby. Do you think Miss Molly will let you sneak a nap in at all?

I've only ever really taken madam to be weighed out of my own curiosity tbh. I figure she's bright eyed, wriggly, eats and poops a lot, so she's doing fine. Although I definately agree that some parents may be influenced into doing what is not necessarily appropriatefor their child, which is worrying.
