CAFC :j for the new pram and Landen's nap!

Am I a really mean mummy, I was just going to get Sophie some blocks and bath toys for Christmas.

That is not mean, it is sensible! There is tons of years for Christmas to bankrupt you, keep it cheap whilst you can - baby doesn't know any better.

Last year I bought just enough so DSS didn't get suspicious as to why Santa brought so little for Benjamin. But also explained to DSS that babies don't get as much from Santa as big kids.

This year I have spent more, but still lots less than most will spend on their babies. I haven't spent anywhere near the cost of a trike or a jumperoo etc. I can't see the point :o

No, you're not mean. We just got Alice a push along baby walker, a book and some rubber ducks for her first Christmas - probably spent about £20 total. I don't think we've ever spent more than about £30 although this year will end up being more because we got Rose Petal Cottage for £30.

  • Bexta, I think Alex got a couple of things last christmas, more to keep Joe happy. All we got for Alex first birthday was a bath toy and a fisher price jungle tree house. Have bought more for this Christmas, but that's because he has now started to play with things, but i've also managed to get every item on sale through M&P or tesco. And i will most probably farm out some of the stuff i've bought to relatives, so I can control the intake of toys into the house.
  • Will have to be a quick reply as DH is on his way home and the front room is a tip! lol

Jumperoo arrived! Yay! A's not quite sure whats going on when shes in it but Im sure she'll get the hang of it. She's completely obsessed with eating her hands at the moment.
    Anyway, pics are here:

    Sorry for change in subject:o

And I don't want to start a breast v bottle debate please!!

Was just wondering how those who make bottles in advance... how do you do it??? Do you make up bottles of milk, cool them, stick them in fridge and warm when needed or do you just do bottles of bolied water and add formula when needed? Or do you stick to the government advice and make up each bottle freshly?;)

i used to do the bottles of water and then add the milk when i needed to MW told me to make 2 bottles at a time. one to use now and then the next feed. that lasted for about 3 days....

from about 7 months i made the bottles of milk and put them in the fridge till needed as it was easier.

i dont think anyone makes them as 'they' say... :o
