What a palaver! My MIL is off to the Isle of Wight tomorrow so she and her partner have driven to Southampton this afternoon to stop over before they get the ferry. MIL has never driven and doesn't have a clue and her partner was ill a few years ago and is not the sharpest tool in the box. We all met for lunch and she was reeling off the roads that they need to go on in a rote type fashion 'M6, M5, M42, M40 etc etc)
They left us at 3pm - hubby is out but just spoke to MIL and she said they were going great...still on the M5, well, just leaving the M5 to get onto the A38 near Plymouth!!! So hubby phoned me and I am google mapping to get her cross country Plymouth to Southampton - it is going to take her another 3 hours!!!
I said this afternoon that it would be a miracle if they got there...I wasn't wrong!!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

kindof - the tracksuit thing sounds a bit odd...do you have to change him out of it before you can take him home? What's the point???Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0

kindof - are they worried about getting his clothes dirty or something?
My MIL used to put him in a long sleeved vest but not put the t-shirt on that I had left to go over the top (we did a lot of layered long sleeved vest & t-shirt combos last winter) - used to drive me skatty! I just started dressing him before she arrived!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

I am up for a krazy kaves meet even if its a mini meet, we've not been there yet! Maybe some of the local ladies off the pregnancy thread might like to come and see what they're letting themselves in for :rotfl:
:j Totally up for that. I can do any day except Monday or Sunday, as long as I have some notice (but not the 8th, 12th or 13th Oct).Ooo I wanna come to a south meet! Kinda just depends on when/where though, so definitely don't plan around me.
Spent most of the afternoon fiddling around with stupid Skype so my sister could video with Finn. But we did manage to light a fire, hang some pictures and finally pick up crap around the bedroom.
DH is now convinced he wants to move to Germany...last month it was the USA! He's insane :rotfl:
Very happy to pick you up from a station and I can have a spare carseat for Finn if you can get a train to Southampton or Portsmouth.My_Fathers_Daughter wrote: »What a palaver! :rotfl:That is hilarious!!! I hope they make it in the end.
Kindof- I personally find it better to pick your battles wisely when it comes to Grandparents. Put your foot down about the things that really matter to you and let them have their way on the smaller things...it pleases them :rotfl:. I totally understand how you feel about the extra washing though. I am the same.
Hugs Becles, feel free to share if we can help or just lend a sympathetic ear.
Yippe for V's sleep, AF. I hope it continues.
I've had the in-laws here all day so I'm worn out, but we had a nice day and Henry was an :A. I just hope he sleeps better tonight as I could really do with a half decent night before work tomorrow.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
