  • Just a quick moan, DD is 16 months and for the last 4 months has been sleeping from 7pm to 7am after I implemented a crying down technique. But now for the last 10 days she wakes up for milk once or twice during the night from anywhere between 1.30am and 4.30am. I know she is teething so do I just assume she is having a growth spurt as well?

:D I am just tired hormonal and starting to struggle.

Kindof - I would wait till his birthday and just get him small things for xmas. You prob wouldn't get that much use out of it between xmas and march anyway.

Didn't have the best of nights last night and things went quite badly wrong for my best friend so I'm feeling very worried. Just on my way out so will post later

Ticklepenny, it could be a growth spurt or she could just like the comfort if her mouth is sore? You could try giving her water instead of milk and see if she gets bored of waking but other than that I don't know, sorry. But :grouphug: all the same.

Husband spilled two of the jars of jam I made yesterday trying to reseal them in the pressure cooker, but none of them sealed. I 'm going to lose even more in reboiling and resealing them, such a waste

  • hey Sugarspun,

I have tried, water but that only seems to keep her quiet for 30mins then she cries for milk....DD is very stubborn lol. She definitely knows what she wants in life (mainly food).

Then I don't know Ticklepenny, although I have a vague notion that sleep regression is common around that age (don't know where I got that idea from though). Is she BFing? If so then I'd bring her into bed with you and let her latch herself on while you snooze, and if not would Mr Ticklepenny take a turn? I know Molly settles much faster for her father because there's no option of boob to keep agitating for :)

No she was too hungry to BF beyond 3 months. Mr tickle is now on some heavy medication (recently had 2 strokes) and doesnt have a clue about our night time adventures till I update him when he eventually gets up. Hope I can get her sleep back into some sort of routine before little tickle 2 arrives.

    Had some awful news :(

My stepbrothers fiancee gave birth yesterday and it went horrendously, sounds like a terrible fack-up all round from the maternity staff. Apparantly she wasnt dilating so they put her on a syntocin drip to speed up/intensify the contractions but she still didnt dilate, so they tried to do a episiotomy all the way up to cut her cervix open to do forceps but the babies head was at an angle and they couldnt pull it down. They eventually gave up and did a c-section, the baby was born not breathing, it took 20 minutes to resuscitate and they think it was starved of oxygen for at least 20 minutes before birth. I cant imagine what they're going through.

OMG Em, that's horrible. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts :grouphug:

Ticklepenny, I've no idea then but I hope it all comes together before MiniTickle arrives. Are you making the bottles up fresh at night or can you store them at the bedside in a thermos or something similar?
