  • There are a couple of different methods... One is to fill them up on juice so they need to pee lots and get used to how it feels... Or the other is ask them at regular intervals if they want to go... Although in Aimee's case she would just say no whether she needed to go or not... I used to have to take her to "try"

Definitely yes to nappies at nap time... Getting dry whilst awake is one thing, mastering it while you sleep takes a bit longer...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

erm...Krystal - I thought you were looking for a double not a Stokke!!

Having said that - I have never met a stokke owner who didn't adore their buggy and who wouldn't do anything to get another if theirs went missing :D They are fantastic!

Edit - OMG SS, 3 and Caz - have you seen the new Winter kits? They have muffs for the handle to keep your hands warm - sheepskin muffs!!!

  • Who was it who is getting their LO a swing for Christmas? Was it Kindof? Could whoever it is let me know which one as I remember it sounded fab and my Mum wants to buy H one for Christmas. Thanks!

I've had a lovely, lovely day with my boy today. I find I am enjoying him much more now I am back at work :o. I think it is partly down to the fact that he is at such an interactive stage now and partly just because we try and do more now my time with him is limited. He has just been too cute for words today.

    It was me :)

  • Lady put her on the potty hourly.

I used a star chart with Katie so for a wee it was 1 star and a poo 2 starts, she then got a treat at the end of the week.

Definitely put her in a nappy for now, dryness at sleep times takes slightly longer. Katie was only 2 when she trained so I left tackling sleep dryness for about 6 months. I still put her on the potty before I go to bed at night.

I also worked out a silent signal with Katie for when she needed the loo so it meant if we were in a noisy environment I still knew what she wanted.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Aless, congrats on increased rights, but booooo to ridiculous job non-offer  tell us the company, or PM me, or FB it!

I know I read something else that I wanted to be nice about but in between catching up and posting I have been cavorting with the boy and I have forgotten mostly everything :( so hugs to some people who shall remain nameless :A

Elijah is pleasing me immensely just now with his improved vocabulary and sense of humour and general cheek :p things of today:
whenever one of us says something like "oh, you're such a big boy now!" or "your big-boy bed" or "you big cutey", he looks very stern and says "NO! Elijah SMALL boy"/cutey!" and gives us a big grin :)

Whenever one of us groans or is moany or stretches, he says "Not feeeeeeling allthatgood?" and puts his head at an angle and peeks through one eye at us

An ongoing running joke now is whenever mama is laughing at him, he says "Spider!" to her, when she looks anxious or says "Where?!" he says
"Spider Gone, spider hiding" and runs away cackling

He has a new soft toy monkey from Kew Gardens and carries it around cuddling, but at irregular intervals climbs up on us to reach our heads, presses it into the side of our heads and keeps it there til we acknowledge "monkey-cuggles"

Although all that said he did wake seven times last night and need settling each time (he has a cold and needed his nose wiping most times), which is not ideal (OH did half I did half)

I have a problem and I have put off talking about it for ages so please be kind.

I can't keep my baby awake :( by 6.30pm he is hysterically tired and whilst I try my hardest to keep him busy and awake and going until 7pm this often (think practically every night) ends in tears and tantrums.

He sleeps from 7pm straight through to 6.30am at the earliest, quite often until 7am or beyond (it was 8.30am on Sunday). He naps every afternoon (for the CM) for 2-3 hours (or more) :( but I still can't keep him awake.

I keep telling myself it is a phase and I am lucky and it will pass in 6 weeks but it hasn't and it isn't getting any better. I try to pick him up from the CM as early as possible as often as I can but sometimes I simply can't get there until 6pm, which means I only get 30 mins with him before it all goes downhill.

MFD, I know this is old news now, I multiquoted yesterday and only got round to posting today :( glad some other people have chipped in with similar experience! It has crossed my mind before that E and B are so similar in many ways yet polar opposites in sleeping...! Hope you find a good way of making things work til he develops a new habit.
  • Did you buy the Stokke in the end, Krystal? When I went to look at your link, this http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/dogs/dog_cages_carriers/travel_bags/dog_accessory_bags_and_trollies/95040 was rather bizarrely being advertised on the page!

GISI, thanks for asking about me. I'm pretty much "over it" now and back to earnestly searching. Not that I got any of that done today as it was my visa appointment, so now I'm a permanent resident and can steal all y'alls hard earned benefits and all :p:p.

But now that we've decided on our future CM, I better find something soon or I risk losing her :(.

eta: Bruno, thanks as well. No point in naming the company really, unless anyone on here plans on going for a job in East Grinstead? :p

  • I'm not sure what you're looking for, Aless, but if you'd consider retail (even as a stop gap) then loads of places are recruiting for Christmas at the moment. I'd quite fancy M&S myself, for the discount and all!

Erm, I doubt they'd even look at me as I'm over-qualified and not sure it would really be worth it as the hourly rates are minimal over the rate of a CM!
