  • Pp, that is awful :( His poor family. and poor little boy too :(

CFAC I know exactly where you are coming from. It takes a lot longer for Dad's to adjust (DH tells new/prospective dads "don't worry, your life won't change that much ). We still argue a bit about things now, but it is a lot better than it used to be. I think part of the problem is that if Dad isn't around (I say Dad, but if the situation was reversed the same would go for you too I expect) doesn't always realise how much time/hard work looking after a grizzling baby takes up when baby is in a bad mood. And no-one ever notices what housework has been done, only what hasn't. I now make a point of telling DH exactly what I've been up to, and pointing out to him that I've cleaned the fridge out, or done 3 lots of washing, or whatever, because if I don't point it out he will never know.

At the moment I do more housework than him, make sure he gest lie ins when he can etc because he is working full time and part time, and I'm only working part time. (I'm looking for something full time, and when I finally find it he will stop the p/t job, and have to do his fair share though!) I do ask him to do some things, but I don't mind too much if after Izzy goes to bed he sits on his bum all night, so long as he spends some time with her sat on his lap when she is up.

He even let me have a lie in at the weekend too, so things are getting better, although I do still have to try and bite my tongue when he tries to have a "I'm tireder than you" competition. Shut up and go to sleep then :rotfl:.

Yep, at nursery they still have a nap in his room, think its stops in pre school , his next room. He is the first one asleep and last one up apparently..... just not at home!!!

Lady - you quoted but didnt add anything... did you want recipe?

    Yes please! I didn't realise I'd missed something :)
Hugs to CAFC but sugar's post made me smile. Sugar have you considered a career in marriage guidance or diplomancy?:rotfl:
I have a tendancy to be very petty when we argue I once went back to my mams but took the sky card with me

I can't imagine what his parents and siblings are going through... his mother got a neighbour to get in through his bedroom window. I just didnt think it would happen to a lad of his age.
It's certainly a tragedy whatever age the person is.

I'm logging out now to watch the Great British Bake off final. I'm very excited. I hope DH isn't expecting my attention when he gets home though......................................

So do I. And if for some reason I've not got much done at home, I always tell him so that he knows there's a good reason why things haven't been done. (Except for two weeks ago when I didn't say anything and just expected him to cotton on to the fact that when I'd said I didn't think I should do anything too energetic I meant he should be doing certain jobs which I hadn't actually specified to him.)

I'm the opposite - I wanted to give him attention and he's gone to bed.

And did he? Or is that a silly question?

    Hi all

think I jinxed things by posting on here saying how Theo only cried for half an hour per evening but last night was 3 hours... it was awful :( we tried EVERYTHING and we started doing everything again, in the end he fell asleep following a bath and a feed. I actually think he was so exhausted from 3 hours of crying :( he has been perfect all day but I am so nervous the same will happen tonight, all I wanted to do last night was get in my car and drive off away from the crying baby... am I a terrible mother :(

Does anyone know roughly how long child benefit takes to come through from 1st application? Sent it off 2 weeks ago and not heard anything, maybe I am just impatient!

On a more positive note; had a lovely 2nd parcel off a very kind lady today :D full of lovely goodies, thankyou CAFC :D

Gill- sorry hun, PM sent. I thought I had replied straight away, damn baby brain. Did you see I've been earning you some swagbucks ;).

Kindof- I'll post those vests to you after work tomorrow. I haven't made it to the PO yet!

Aless- if you're around how are you feeling today? You seemed really down yesterday (understandably so) but I hope you're feeling a bit better today.

Has anyone on BP actually received an Amazon voucher yet?
