My big boy has decided that it is more fun to have a chuckle than to have a cuddle and a love whilst mummy sings his bedtime song...
Yesterday he was saying 'Mum' all the way through (because the last word of the song is mummy), the night before that he was singing la, la, la along with me and tonight he was making fake burping noises and giggling his head off. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I wanted to keep my lovely last cuddle of the day for a little bit longerplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Oh MFD, he is a cutie, even if he isn't a cuddly one!
I just won 8 swagbucks searching for "what have I left off my shopping list"... it does like me after all. Now I have cucumbers to scrub, chop and salt. And apples to peel and chop. I hope you are all having a more interesting evening than me!Isabella Molly born 14th January 2009

I know it's . I go  every time I buy shoes for my lot!
However the little bones in his feet are very soft and easily damaged in a poorly fitted shoe. While it seems a lot to pay, it's worth it to have lovely feet with no problems when he's bigger.
When he's at school age, the shoes last much longer than supermarket ones, especially if they play football and stuff in them. It's false economy buying cheap shoes for active children as they just don't last. The boys have grown out of Clarks shoes that have been heavily abused for a whole school year, and they still had plenty of wear left in them!
Hope you are ok Jillie xx
Just had a huge toad in the hole for tea *yum*
MIL has insisted we buy Clarks until he is 11. I was going to get Clarks anyway but was a bit miffed when they insisted on buying his first pair until OH said 'No, its something we will do as his parents'
I've found the ones OH and I both liked in Mothercare Clarks so will order them.
How often are you supposed to get their feet measured?
I know J's not growing that much at the mo, he's only 22lbs. He eats 3-4 meals a day and still has 3 bottles! He is so active he just burns it all off.A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -

I wrote a long post and the forum gremlin ate it
I'm off for an early night anyway. I was out way too late last night and am shattered now and my throat is really sore. Alfie is still a snottosaurus but has been sleeping better so I'm glad it's not causing him too much bother now.
We are away to Wales on Tuesday, well me, Alfie and my mum are. DH is too busy with work as he is promoting 2 new club nights that both start next week. He's been mega busy and I've hardly seen him for the last couple of weeks but if they work well it'll be really, really good for us.
So the three of us are sharing a room in Wales so I'm not sure how well I'll sleep so would rather be well rested before we go, just in case!
Hope everyone has a good night tonight without problems from teeth, illness, random crying or anything else0 -
Ooo - we disappeared for a while.
Benjamin wears his Clarks shoes most of the time but he has sandals, wellies, crocs and swimming shoes too.
I think the advice is to get them measured every 6 weeks...but having said that Benjamin didn't grow at all for about 4 months after he had his first pair of shoes - they were getting really scruffy!!
My parents paid for Benjamins first shoes but we took him for them.

They normally measure them each time you go for shoes. The measurement is just a guide though and not an exact science as it depends on the shape of their foot and the style of the shoes. When they try them on, you may find you need to go up or down a size or a width, or the style just doesn't suit their foot shape at all!
Josh was really keen on a slip on shoe this time, but his feet are that skinny, they just wouldn't stop on even in narrow width fittings! He ended up getting a loafter style lace up which he wasn't that keen on but it at least they stop on his feet! Here I go again on my own....0 -
