Hi Geomacl - just noticed that 1953 called you Goemad - that's even worse than what I did! I think you need a space between the c and l.

Thanks for that advice grahamqat - geomac l
  • Yes that looks better - what's with the "q" in that? though - bet you've had your G and T and didn't spell check! Hope you dont check my posts now 'cause my spelling's crap!
  • Geomac_l - did you ever get a third letter? I know some on this forum have, I just can't remember if you have. Thinking of nailing up the letterbox tonight!

Hmmmm - what "q" in that grahamqat?
No sir, I have not had a third letter - not even a second one. I assume that you have phoned IJ at their 0844 number and asked them to remove you from their debt book/files?

Morning Geamacl, yes I did phone the number on the Helploan (2nd) letter which put me through to IJ. They then looked at my account and said it was already blocked. Thing is, MCO told me that then sent the second letter.
  • I got my £2 Experian credit report yesterday - it shows 2 searches by MCO, both on the same date in early September. The first is marked 'Application type - generic check' and the second is marked ' Application type - personal loan. Amount £300 over one month'.

The search has been done with my correct name, address and d.o.b. but incorrect time at present address. I'm sure I recall some of you saying that searches had been done on your credit records with incorrect details (sometimes even d.o.b. not being right). Did you also have two checks on your report? Why did Experian release our credit reports to MCO even though the application information was incorrect?

    Thanks - Prudence

Hi Prudence, I'm not sure how experian get your correct details in the first place. In my instance I have never contacted them and never will so how can they verify my details and know what's correct or incorrect?

Hi GQ - yes good point, I actually never thought of that  The whole system is crazy!
  • As a follow-up to my previous post, my husband told me that if you sign up for a credit card or a bank account with an overdraft facility, then somewhere in the small print it will say that you are agreeing to share your data with a CRA. So apparently that's how the CRAs get your info.

But this doesn't solve the problem of the CRAs giving out info when the personal details in the request don't match the personal details in your credit file.
