You should have came last Sunday, it was the weekend of the Mathew Street Music Festival (Sunday & Monday) you'd have been in your element with all the bands

I guess it would depend how long you are going to be in Liverpool and what you really want to do to suggest where you should go, but if you're planning on the city centre area then the Albert Dock area is always a good area to head for
If I'd have been free this Sunday I'd have come and had a beer with you

dont forget there are two cathedrals in liverpool and its the anglican one that's worth the visit. once you're in the grounds of the cathedral, to the left there is a walkway that leads you down to a really old graveyard that's really well kept and full of old seafarers etc - it stretches out into a bit of a park and is well worth seeing. last time i was there some ancestors had left a card on one of the graves - i've never seen that before.
one other thing that's well worth doing is catching a ferry to seacombe - esp if its sunny like it is today - absolutely lovely seeing the waterfront0 -
