    My usual routine has been:
6.40am get up, go and do b/f lunch for the day, put a load of washing on
7am-shower, wash hair, quick bathroom clean, then dry hair and have a quick read of MSE whilst straigntening my hair.
8am-get dressed and put washing out on line
8.15am leave for work, start at 8.30
5pm finish work, come home get changed, get washing in and go gym
6.30-7pm get home, put gym gear into wash and have a shower
8pm put dinner on to cook, hoover and polish living room & dining room, give kitchen a quick blast
8.30-9pm eat dinner (too late I know, but only chance)
10.30 collapse into bed ready to do it all over again

Oh I also try to find time to do some phd.

Weekends I clean the house thoroughly on friday night or saturday morning, depends. Do food shopping, any batch cooking I can etc and sunday is my phd day.

But I start back to uni and a new job next week and my travelling time is going to be 1+hour, so I will be getting up and going to the gym for 6am to try and fit everything in still. Oh, the course I am starting is clinical psychology which means I will be doing my phd and another doctorate, plus working 3 full days a week in different clinical placements. Where do we find the time or the energy?

6am Woken up by two small boys (sometimes later, often much earlier)
Empty DW, fill WM, let dogs out, give cats breakfast, apply nose peg, change two nappies and dress boys. Drink at least 3 cups of tea.
    feed children
7.15am send boys to wake daddy. Involves lots of flashinglights and shouting of male chicken a doodle doo much to his intense pleasure.
Make dh packup while he walks the dog.
7.40am snotty kisses for daddy as he escapes to work
(7.41am laptop on, ignore children till 4pm :rotfl: )
9am WM into drier, 2nd load if needed. Quick tidy of kitchen and bathroom, plan tea
12 Feed children, let dogs out. Tidy morning mess
4pm Emergency tidy and vac before daddy comes home, start preparing tea
5pm Release children from their cages ready for the return of daddy
5.30 Welcome home OH, hand over children, provide him with drink and get on with tea.
6.30 bath and bed for boys.
feed animals so OH can take them out, tidy living room, vac again if needed, fill dishwasher,
7.00 watch emmerdale with a nice red stripe, followed by finishing off anything that needs doing and then have a nice evening talking with OH without feeling that I am surrounded by mess.
10.00 swish and swipe bathroom and kitchen. Shine sink, second fill of dw if needed so I come down to a clean kitchen. Sort next day clothes for all. Milk for ds2. Bath and bed for adults

Between 6am and 6.30pm add lots of short bursts of tidying, nappy changing, setting up of train tracks and castles, watching chitty chitty bang bang and thomas tank engine at least once each, baking yet more buns, making small boy snacks, saying 'no' a depressing number of times etc.

It works well for us and we are all happy with it. I work two days which makes a nice break from children and keeps my career alive, and they have an extra half day in nursery so I can do a deep clean once a week. We thought very hard when we had ds1 and decided that this was the best way to make sure that that there was still 'us' as well as family.

Wake up around 7am. My alarm doesn't actually go off until 7.20 but the girls have normally disturbed me before then by hushing each other whilst playing all their musical toys simultaneously! Its usually at this point I scold myself for not managing to get to bed earlier the night before, doubly so as I mooch to the bathroom and catch sight of myself in the mirror!

7-8.45am Get me and both kids washed, dressed etc, make all beds, sort washing to take down, do kids hair, put my face on. Hubby leaves before 8am. Go downstairs. Get kids breakfast, put washing on, check dinner chart and get bits out of freezer if required, unload dishwasher, pack lunch boxes, check on all my non-human babies and then sit and have a look through emails/forums with a banana and cup of tea whilst kids eat and get ready to go.

    8.45am Take girls to school

The morning is then different depending on what day it is. Twice a week I go to 'work' at DD2's old pre-school until just after midday, then straight from there to pick her up from school. The other three mornings I divide between my DIY (am renovating our house) and my website which still needs tons of work. :o

12.15-12.45pm Pick up DD2 from school.

12.45-3pm I have lunch when I've helped little one change out of her uniform. She normally sits with me and tells me what she did during the morning as she has already eaten at school. The next couple of ours is spent on the house, the following divided between the 5 days (DD2 'helps' me) - all cleaning, ironing, hoovering, batch cooking/baking, cage cleaning, meal planning (including shopping lists etc), filing, change beds/towels, sewing, anti-cluttering, tending veggie patch (although fallen behind on this just now! :o ) etc etc and so forth.

    3-3.20 ish Pick up DD1.

3.20-7pm After this I have a cup of tea and go through my emails/forums again and then its play a game with the girls and cont with above until 5pm when I start the kids dinner and make the lunches for the next day.

Once kids have eaten I clear up whilst they go and tidy their playroom, then its bath/shower and pj time, followed by reward chart (they get a sticker a day for a tidy playroom, which gets converted into 5p's on a friday) and a bedtime story. Hubby gets in.

7-8pm Shower and do mine and Dh's dinner. Eat.

Once dinner is cleared away the rest of the evening is spent on my animals. Spot clean cages as needed, change water for all, have a play with each lot in turn and feed as they get 'put to bed'. The mice have a playpen on an old towel for free-range and have 'sittings' playing in it as I have an old single male with a history of aggression towards other meeces, a pair of foster boys, a group of 6 girls and a pair of girls in quarantine non of who can meet for obvious reasons! Once the mice have all had their turn I clear up the playpen and toys and it's the ratties turn. This is one of my favourite times of day as once they are out and I've tidied their cage (changed their litter tray etc) I can flop on the sofa with a cup of tea whilst the three of them free range round the living room. They invariably each come up on my lap to say hello at some point and after about an hour of mischief they get put to bed with their dinner, which is usually a small amount of whatever we ate and a fresh bowl of dry mix.

Once the rats are back I load the diswasher and put it on, have a final once over my email/forums and go up to bed where I normally get totally lost in a book until the small hours whilst hubby and the kids all sleep.

Weekends are spent on errands, visiting family and spending time with the kids. Sadly sunday dinner is reallt he only one where its possible for us to all eat together so we like making a 'thing' of it and have a good natter all four of us, or more if people are round.

I think I'm very fortunate in that I'm primarily working for myself so am able to reschedule my day to fit round ill kids/animals, school plays/parents meetings/walk round afternoons (which seem to get more and more often!) commitee meetings and whatever else crops up. Once DD2 is at school full time I also plan to start learning to drive (again! :o ) and add Thursday afternoons to my sessions at pre-school as this is when they run their creche for parents on courses and have 0-3 yrs in, so I can get my baby fix! :D I also hope I'll make quicker progress on the house and website as my afternoon jobs shouldn't take so long without littlely.

Whilst I'd never claim to work any harder than any other Mum the one thing that really gets my goat is the amount of times I've been asked if I'm 'going back to work' when DD2 starts school as though all I do all day is sit on my bum watching telly!
    :heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:

7.40-OH takes DD to school. Sort any post and file etc. If feeling OK, wash, teeth and get dressed. Put another washload on if needed. Put DW on if needed.
8.10-9.00-OH back from dropping DD at school. If not feeling good, OH will help me bathe and dress (lovely for him..lol). Depending on menu for the evening some of dinner can be prepared especially if in SC. OH hangs washing out if another has been put on. Have another tea/coffee. Have my second breakie-biccies or cake.
09.00-2.40-Made up of numerous hospital appointments, shopping, things done around the house, studying, reading, phonecalls, finishing dinner, lunch, more tea/coffee/cakes, GP, post office, cleaning, emptying DW, BM on, sorting stuff out etc.

5.30-7.30-Family time. Check DD's HW, watch some TV (we try and be constructive here and watch some National Geographic..lol)...more like Disney channel:rolleyes: Take Warfarin tablets.
7.30-8.00-DD goes to bed and has a choice of OH reading her a story or putting one of her DVD's on. Whichever one, she is asleep quite quickly:D I make list for next day and try and meal plan:p Catch up on emails.
8.00-9.30-OH & I spend some time together, or further studying, reading etc etc. More tea/coffee/cake. Also have supper.
9.30 onwards-turn off laptop, go to bed, making sure downstairs is tidy first. Quick flick upstairs picking any towels etc from the floor, but normally ok.
