Indeed. And you spend a surprising amount of time on your feet in that industry.:D Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted. ahh right. bit of a while to go to tell you to hang on in till they go to school. The 3 year old should qualify for 15 hours non-means tested funding for nursery though. Was she 3 in Aug (as she'd get funding from this term) or Sept (would have to wait till Jan). Is it childcare costs causing the issue?
Yes Spendless. She was 3 in August luckily and is going to get 15 hours paid nursery as of 20th September. That is going to save me £50 a week but it costs £191 per child for full time nursery which is £382 per week. I earn £370 so taking into account my petrol money and work clothes etc I'm paying to go to work. Trying to become debt free but this site makes me spend a fortune!!! No help via tax credits for childcare? If not what about childcare vouchers instead?0

No, my husband earns too much when you take into account his overtime (we are certainly not loaded!!!) Childcare vouchers - my boss recently knocked back my request saying there was too much administration involved, even though it would be me doing all the admin and I've worked it out that it would take around 20 minutes per month! Trying to become debt free but this site makes me spend a fortune!!! I'd suggest a care assistant role. Especially if you want to get into nursing.
A nursing home probably wouldn't be best as they opperate shifts so earlys, lates and nights. Being a home carer would be perfect though. You'd be able to do the evening visits which would mainly consist of giving meds and helping to bed.
Have you ever contacted any home care agencies?Future Mrs Gerard Butler

What about your husband's employer for childcare vouchers? Would your boss re-think if he thought the alternative was he'd lose you (I know it's a gamble telling him!!!)0

He knows he's losing me unfortunately. I asked him for a three day week for the next year as that would mean an increase in tax credits until my little girl starts school in September 2011 and he refused it.
He saw the figures and knows that I am paying to come to work and said "I know what I'd do, I'll be sorry to lose you but you'd be mad to work for that". He's a really nice guy, but this is a new company and we're not making enough money to enable him to pay me more.
