Could these poor people not sue the baliff company and the balifs as individuals because this is disgraceful. Personally I hope someone really really hurts em, the baliffs that is.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Dear God! that show just about had me punching the tv screen. Threatening children, lying, stealing and fraud. What a fantastic court system we have in this country if it has behaviour like that as an accepted part of the collections process... I am so proud!!!!:A

I am completly sickened by what I just saw.
This very program shows that there needs to be very strick measures brought into line for both baillif and debitor.
I think for starters every single letter sent should be sent recorded delivery, they can then not add on phantom charges for this, they have to show the docket to say that the debitor has signed for the letter, that also helps the baillifs because then the debitor cannot blag them and say they never got it. Win-win.
At every visit, the baillif should get a slip signed to say that the debitor has indeed recived that visit, and no phantom visits can be added on, definate win for the debitor.
Also they should bring in national set charges, that each and every company must adhear to, they get charged for what they owe, and the charge for the bailiff and not a penny more. At the moment they are like mini mafias.
And most importantly, more people need to be educated about what bailiffs can and cannot do, the bailiffs should send a written copy of the laws they must comply with and then the debitor knows what they can and cannot do, and on there they should be instructed to ask for all offical documentation, as we do when the gas man calls round.
But just as important, they need to get the barstweards that run these companies and kick them out, rather hardly as well and get someone in that will show the bailiffs that if they act in these abusive, unlawful and down right awful ways, that they will not go unpunished. If they act within the law, and with respect to the debitors, then their lives with be a whole lot easier, they will receve the monies owed easier and they will be better respected.
At the end of the day, we do need bailiffs as I am sure most of you would admit, but I am sure that it would make peoples lives easier if they did not live in fear of them.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

Oh my God.
Am I the only one who felt embarassed by the police ignorance? I understand that they are to remain impartial....but, call me old fashioned, I thought the police were there to uphold the law? The ones shown didn't have a Danny La Rue.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Bailiffs - officers of the court - someones having a bleeding laugh:mad:
When you think of all that goes into taking a case, any case, through the legal system, the standard of education and integrity requird of judges, only to find that the, often, final link in the legal chain is the uneducated, moronic 'sub-culture' that this programme has exposed then there is truly something wrong with the system!
I am lost for words.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

I almost had to switch off at one point, I was truly disgusted.
I am however very glad it was shown. I hope it stops more people being fleeced.
Sure, as the programme said, there will always be a need for bailiffs for debtors who refuse to pay but this blatant law breaking to rob them of even more was truly sickening.
Even if you are well off and are coughing up a few hundred quid for a parking fine, do you "deserve" to be robbed of another few hundred quid? Grrrrrr.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
