Business Account - reclaiming bank charges

Sent a letter on the 15th Jan requesting a full refund of bank charges listed from our business acccount.
Received a call from the Senior Branch Manager who wished to discuss the charges. Hubby replied he didnt wish to hold this conversation as his requirements were clearly stipulated in his last letter.
End of conversation.
I expect there will be a "nasty"letter in the post from the Northern Bank tomorrow

Is it possible to reclaim commercial bank charges in the same way as personal account charges, HSBC have taken many charges in the last 10 years from my business account.

We hold a business account with Natwest and I wondered whether the charges are viewed as unlawful for business accounts as well as personal? Can we claim back even though we are a business account?

I applied on two personal accounts and one business account. I live in Scotland and bank with the HBOS. I received a letter this morning re my business account ( haven't heard a thing back from my 2 personal ones) and they say " your request is obviously based on recent media coverage.............as a business customer you are not included within this act and I have refused your request".

Is this right? Is a business account diefferent? Do I draw a line or is there something else I can do?

Just an update. Called the Banking Ombudsman and asked if they were entitled to tell me they don't pay Business accounts. They said they were NOT and offered to send a letter off for me asking them to settle. Keep you posted.

I am very interested in the ability to reclaim the bank charges, but I would like to know if the same rules apply to business accounts. I can't seem to find any info on this in the article. Does anyone know the answer to this please?
