1 ~ Its not as easy as being told to do a,b and c. We ask for information, then we act on that information. Each and every case is unique

2 ~ Putting them in is easy enough. RAM only fits one way in and is simply clipped in. The Hardrive will be held in with a few screws and the cables only fit one way.

3 ~ 1Gb is usually fine for XP (I suspect you have 512Mb (0.5 Gb) or less)

4 ~ Almost certainly

5 ~ I'll leave that to Donnie. But you dont want Vista or WIndows 7 putting on it I assure you.

Then run the CLEANER scan (UNTICK 'cookies')
Then run the REGISTRY scan (Backup the registry when it asks)
Then goto TOOLS and START UP and 'disable' searchprotocolhost.exe

Its as clean as your going to get it (save perhaps you can uninstall the LOGITECH BLUETOOTH program if you dont use it)

You need more RAM ~ thats the bottom line

Thanks for that help, will look into getting some more RAM when I order a new hard drive

Why are you looking at a new hard drive?

One we have is clicking and then we get blue screen. According to several websites it's indicative hard drive failure is going to occur

Unless you have another explaination?
