Having another 'down' day, I wish I knew why. All I know is the smallest things are stressing me out and things that should be enjoyable to do feel like a chore. I think our holiday has come at a good time.
Advertised some clothes to clear space at a bargain price and ended up being a £1 down - ah well. The playroom is looking less like a dumping ground as a result.
Have worked hard on Onepoll and am up to £37.75 on there now.
DD is having a mammoth nap which I think we both needed as she is still being incredibly demanding.
I am going to relax with a cup off coffee now and ignore the lawn that STILL needs cutting! (DH's reaction to my comment it needs doing and I haven't had the energy - 'it's only us that looks at it'. Oh to be as laid back as him. He really is my better half!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Mortgage updated online so sig updated, am pleasantly surprised at how low in the 113,000's I am. Mortgage will definitely start with 112- next month! :j
I've transferred £80 from rainy day funds to my graduate account in preparation for the account closing. It would be easy enough to do a 0% balance transfer but I need to learn to take the focus away from the mortgage when I need to and that it's not a crime not to OP what I intended.
DD is still asleep but she did have a late night so will leave her there for now and hope she doesn't need to nap today. Think I'll get on with a few jobs before she wakes.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Thanks FF, our income is modest aswell as we only have about £2300 a month coming in despite both working incredibly hard!
Had a constructive day, was up early and DD didn't wake till 9:45am! I chose not to wake her hoping she wouldn't nap instead (which she hasn't). So this morning I used up what was in the fridge to make meals to put in freezer as we go away Monday. I made a stir-fry without chicken but 'meated' it out with mushrooms and tomatoes so have 4 portions in the freezer and enough for tea. Also made a pasta dish DD loves and it's a great way to get broccoli and carrots into her (4 in freezer and a huge bowl in the fridge). Then DD and I made rice crispy cakes which have come out really nice. They're cheap rice crispies from Aldi which tbh are a bit soggy for cereal but fine covered in chocolate!
Someone collected a football goal DH was given and we've never taken out of the box so I got £5 for that.
DD loves her new bike (DH put the stabilisers on it yesterday). She keeps referring to it as 'my bicycle' (she gives everything its full title!)but she doesn't quite have the strength to pedal independently but has learned that she needs to keep her feet on the pedals.
Still need to do holiday packing but it shouldn't take long as everything is clean so no washing to do. I think rain is forecast tues, weds so I am really glad we upgraded incase we need to spend time indoors.
Grateful - is your local forecast predicting rain?
I also need to go back through the last few pages of diary to make list of places to visit and google them to get postcodes for sat nav etc.
I'm hoping it rains here otherwise I'm going to have to water the lawns.
Moneymaking today - £5 for football goal and 70p on TCBJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Have bought a few bits and pieces off ebay today. Some adaptors to attach car seat to pram and a footmuff (all to help with resale value of course!) Have been getting holiday stuff ready and DD is excited as I think she understands the time frame more now. I told her we are going to a party tomoro and holiday the next day and she remembered this when I asked her hours later. I hope she is just as excited when we bundle her into the car at 6am on Monday morning!
Have done some 'googling' and Paignton Zoo is much too far from where we are staying (2 hour drive) so we will go to Exmoor Zoo instead (thanks Grateful for the tips) possibly on our last day after we have checked out.
Have watered the garden as they have predicted a hot day for us tomorrow.
DH is watching the boxing so I may loiter on here and read my book.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Bet you can't wait for your holiday. We're away just as you come back I think and cannot wait now, am so ready for it.
Glad it's not just me that buys things thinking if the resale value0 -

It was the first thing I thought of when I paid just £150 for my bugaboo pram. I have since bought a maxi-cosi car seat aswell which we didn't particulary need but it will help it sell and I can sell my old travel system (that's if anyone wants it! Have advertised it for just £50 but no takers so far). From what I have seen on ebay I could realistically sell the whole bugaboo pram and accessories for around £400. Now that would make a wonderful OP when the time comes.
It's so nice to have a holiday to look forward to isn't it.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
What a gorgeous morning!
I have just posted on Pippa's diary about a boiler and it has really got me thinking about our own future extension plans. I ultimately want to create a 4th bedroom and kitchen diner as cheaply as possible. A house round the corner did this and sold recently for about £30-40k more than what my house is currently worth.
I know descriptions of other people's houses tend to make no sense but we could do the following.
1) Knock kitchen through to utility and also extend utility bit outwards into the garden
2)Above this (the utility and extended bit) create a 4th bedroom. The bathroom is at the top of the stairs but the bedroom would be to the left of this.
It seems it would give us what we need without too much disruption. I really think it will work and will discuss it with DH later. Now to work out how to raise the funds! I would also have to work out how big bedroom 4 would end up being. This is why I like rightmove as I don't just frequent it to look at houses to buy, I look for ideas of what we could do with our own property.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

I have plans for everything, always... I like to have a nosey on right move but I found a 3d modeller on the net that has become my new toy... floorplanner dot com, you can set up a house with walls quite quickly, it takes quite a while to get everything else in but its worth it to see what your plans would look like!
